realizing now that since Terra’s dad is Norman, she got her brown hair and blue eyes from her mom, his genes just gave up

As much as the RS grunts respect Beau, I feel like they do still gossip a little about him. Nothing malicious, just little observations or conjecture. We already have that grunt who tells you how his charisma isn’t always a good thing, so it’s not out of the question.

All this to say, I’m sure about a month into Terra being forced to work for him, the grunts start gossiping about whether she’s his girlfriend or something. He seems to always be looking for her, and she’s been visiting the office more frequently.

Unfortunately for them, Beau overhears this and sends the little gossips on a more difficult job initially meant for Terra just to teach them a lesson.

Her? His girlfriend? Please. As if he’d ever have the hots for this cocky rude tourist.

This doesn’t quite stop the gossip though, they just get better at hiding.

As time drags on, the rumors start to border into conspiracy territory.

“A guy who works night shift told me he saw the boss leavin’ the office with her pretty late last night!”

“Maybe he punished us just to try and keep us quiet… what other reason could there be.”

“He’s changed a little since she came along, y’know? He doesn’t scrutinize my reports as much as before”

“Get this, a buddy of mine who patrols the Jaune district saw them together getting ice cream! There’s one right near the office, why would he choose one so far away?! I say he’s tryin’ keep it a secret…”

“I heard from the delivery guys that he’s sent at least a couple packages to Hotel Z…”

“But, hey, if Philippe says she’s in the clear, I guess she’s alright. They do look good together.”

Beau is an observant man. He has eyes and ears around the city, even on his own grunts, so these rumors eventually do reach him.

…But somehow, he’s not mad about it. It’s all rather amusing to him now. He’s still trying to solve her little mystery, these gestures are merely an act to get on her good side. If his own grunts can’t see that, then clearly it’s working.

But that last one… “They look good together.”

Something about that just feels… right.

TerBeau (not dating) in that 'stuck in an elevator together' trope except it's in the old rickety elevator at Hotel Z, and instead of doing anything spicy, all they do is play cards (Terra never wins) while waiting for one of the Team MZ members to get them unstuck.

In a similar vein, the 'only one bed' trope and instead of sharing it, both of them insist the other should have the bed while they themselves sleep on the floor. They argue. They both end up sleeping on the floor.

It's a beautiful spring day, TerBeau and the kids go out for a picnic near a pond.

TerBeau stays behind to eat their little charcuterie board and sip on some wine on a picnic mat while the kids go play near the pond.

It's about 20 minutes later when they see 10 year old Oleander running over with 5 year old Alouette in his arms. She's completely soaked and crying. They try and calm her down enough to find out why, and when that fails, they turn to Oleander instead who points towards the pond.

"Apollo pushed her into the pond", He says with a frown.

Upon hearing this, Beau angrily marches over to the pond and drags his 11 year old eldest child out by the ear, kicking and screaming. Terra stays behind to comfort Alouette with pieces of cheese on crackers topped with some jam, as well as juiceboxes that's also shared with Oleander. She also gives her a once-over to check for injuries and thankfully she's complete unharmed.

When Beau returns, he sets his son down, reprimanding him and makes him apologize to his little sister.

Terra asks him why he would do something like that to her, and he ashamedly replies,

"Because her name is said like Alou-wet and not Alou-dry..."

Beau lets out an exasperated sigh while Terra tries her hardest not to laugh. He even inherited his terrible jokes.

He'll be grounded for the whole of next week.

Just a thought I had after the last ask You know it hits me that upon hearing these, Corbeau realizes that there wasn't anyone to remember his embarrassing childhood stories, and he's probably forgotten a bunch of his own by the time he hears Terra's

I'm sure most people would love for their own cringe moments to be erased from existence, but Beau literally is living that reality. Sort of a "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" type thing

It's just another one of those little things you don't often think about because it's so normal to human life. He didn't have anyone to celebrate his best childhood moments or tease him for his worst moments.

A lot of embarrassing childhood stories come from kids being scared of something silly and running to their parents for comfort, doing something their parents told them not to, or saying words incorrectly.

And I feel like the humor of it lies in how unscary the fear actually was, how one tried to cover up their misdeeds in the most childish ways possible or overreacted when punished for it, and one's parents getting them to repeat the wrong word over and over again because they think its cute.

When little Beau was scared, he only had himself to rely on, or maybe even just his Venipede if he caught it that young. He also didn't have any parents to give him rules to break or silly punishments to carry out. How did he even learn to speak properly? Did he teach it to himself? It's probably not a very amusing story either. And I imagine that even if he had someone to teach him, they're not going to be like "haha this boy with no family said a word funny"

Considering that the first guy we help in the mainstory is aware of Corbeau's reputation (calling him the 'famous, fearless Corbeau) but not of his past might mean it's not exactly common knowledge that he was a homeless orphan?

Does that mean there was no one to remember little Beau...

Has Terra’s parents ever shared any embarrassing/cute moments/stories of little Terra to Corbeau complete with a photo album?

She was a clingy crybaby as a kid so they have a lot of photos and stories to share with him (much to Terra's chagrin)

A lot of these take place in Johto since she she wa born and raised there for 12 years

Getting spooked and crying to mom because a Noctowl turned it's head 180 degrees

Getting caught in a Spinarak's web and running home screaming about it, Spinarak STILL attached to her

Getting sick because she was playing with a Jumpluff for too long and breathed in too many spores

Getting scared by various ghost Pokemon

Calling Pokeballs 'Okieballs' when she was still learning how to talk

giggling to myself imagining TerBeau taking a photo of themselves in the hospital with newborn Apollo to send to Terra's parents. They're smiling but they both look so fucking tired; bags under their eyes, hair a mess, a bunch of tubes in her wrist, maybe they're crying a little. Apollo's also still in that kinda ugly potato looking baby phase, you know the one

(TerBeau, not dating yet) Terra joining in on a Rust Syndicate company drinking party.

The venue is a little izakaya-type thing on one of the floors of the office itself, it's for convenience but also a safety thing (an infamous organization all getting drunk together in a public space might make them an easy target for their enemies) She's there through a personal invite from the big boss himself. It's just more fun to drink with her and it takes the attention off him for a bit so he doesn't feel as pressured to drink as much.

Little does he know, she does not enjoy beer so now he has to drink her share too. At least he gets to tease her for it.

"What? Too posh for beer unlike the rest of us scoundrels?" Fortunately, she's alright with sake and shochu.

During Rust Syndicate's company drinking parties, grunts have challenged each other, Philippe, and even Corbeau to see who can handle more drinks. Corbeau has never lost. The grunts have heard that Terra's quite a heavy drinker, and egg her on to compete with their boss who has quite a high tolerance for alcohol. He himself isn't quite sure why he's able to hold drinks so well, but speculates it might have something to do with his tolerance for poisons as well.

He's not too keen on the idea, but since she's accepted the challenge, he can't back out infront of all his grunts and right-hand man.

Normally, when its just the 2 of them, he's able to pace himself and encourages her to drink more as a means to try and get her to drop bits of information. He's usually a little drunk by the end of it with his face an adorable shade of pink as he flushes easily, but still sober enough to hold conversations and make his way home on foot. Meanwhile, she's usually pretty wasted, but present enough to get Oregano to bring her back to Hotel Z. Team MZ isn't thrilled about it, but at least she has a failsafe and doesn't come back too late.

But on this night, slamming shot after shot, he's barely able to hold himself up, though he manages to emerge victorious. As heavy of a drinker as Terra is, she's no match for Corbeau. But she puts up one hell of a fight as he's pretty far gone himself too. Amidst the ruckus and being roughly jostled by his grunts in celebration of his victory, Corbeau weakly puts a fist in the air, but he doesn't seem all that happy. Terra's face down on the table, conscious enough to stay awake but not enough to sit upright; anything she might have to say just coming out as garbled nonsense.

Corbeau places a hand on her shoulder and shakes her gently, but all he gets in response is a series of groans, though it's difficult to hear through the chatter happening around them. Philippe shushes the rowdy grunts just enough to hear what Corbeau is saying through slurred speech.

"Terra... hey... y'alright...? Come on...Stay with me now... S'no fun without you..."

A grunt quickly and quietly brings over 2 glasses of water upon Philippe's instruction, which get placed infront of them. Corbeau gently pulls her off the table, to lean back against his shoulder as he holds her up. She's still awake, just squinting at the bright lights above. "Come on, now... you needa drink some water... can you handle that?"

She's able to give a small nod before he brings the glass of water to her lips, allowing her to take small sips of water.

Philippe asks if she wants to call it a night and be brought back to Hotel Z, but she shakes her head and insists she just needs to lie down for a bit.

The grunts squeeze together to make space for her to lay down on the cushioned seats, one of them even sent to fetch a cushion from elsewhere in the office, though it's wholly unneeded as Terra already found a pillow for her head; Corbeau's thigh.

She's even given a blanket; Corbeau's jacket.

It's not long before she's fast asleep.

Corbeau, still drunk and between bites of barsnacks, goes on to defend her dignity that no one was even questioning.

"You all respect me a great deal, but I want you all to respect her too...

She's one of the best battlers in Lumiose, damn it! maybe even in the whole of Kalos! If it's not me, then she's definitely going to be the one to reach Rank A.

So I don't want ANY of you to think she's weak because of tonight, understood?!"

He's met with a synchronized "Yes, boss" from his grunts.

"She's.... she's my favorite one... I-I...."

Philippe quickly diverts the topic before his boss admits something he may regret, though the grunts aren't stupid and have all pretty much caught on to what he thinks of her. They've seen her around the office often enough to know, this just served as confirmation.

And luckily for Corbeau, she's a deep sleeper and doesn't overhear any part of it, even with his hand gently rubbing her back.

They both wake up in his office, each on a different sofa with a pounding headache. Philippe had to bring them both to the office to sleep it off as it was far too late to bring her back to Hotel Z; What would the rest of Team MZ think if they brought her back completely sloshed that late at night?

It's also easier to monitor them both in the same room, especially since the other floors of the office are already well stocked with medical supplies and cleaning equipment should they need them. The latter of which had to be brought out when Terra threw up in the elevator.

Corbeau remembers not the later parts of last night, and Terra, even less.

Philippe summarizes much of it for the both of them, though he leaves out most of the... 'important' details for his sake.

The next time she's invited, they'll play a less intense drinking game instead.

Okay I have to ask cause it's been on my mind, but what do you think happens to the Pokemon from hyperspace who escape and are in Lumiose? You think Quasartico would bring them into existing wild zone, attempt to make new wild zones for them, or a combination of the two?

Also do you think Terra and Corbeaus kids would ask for Pokemon that came from Hyperspace? Like Apollo staring at a Tinkatink or a Toxel and desperately wanting one... (Idk what Pokemon he would use but he seems like a kiddo to want a Tinkatink)

I haven't finished the DLC yet so I'm not really sure what happens once the Hyperspace stuff gets resolved :-(

Assuming that it's like a "They'll close eventually but will remain open for a little bit" situation, I think Quasartico would just let it resolve on it's own??? Since it's not going to be a problem for very long.

Apollo asking for a Tinkatink is very funny considering he does end up with a Rookidee KAS:LGKAL:G There is beef in his own team...

Though, considering that it's a fairy type, I think Alouette's more likely to have it... which is even funnier cos now she has extra reason to beef with her brother.

the first person to notice that Terra and Corbeau may have a thing for each other is probably Philippe tbh

Terra's been out of the dating game for so long (+ only ever been in 1 relationship) and has so few friends to begin with that all she's sure about is that she likes being around Corbeau. He's a little bit of an asshole at times, kinda nerdy, but hey at least he really knows how to make her laugh; definitely fun to hang out with, but doesn't immediately strike her as boyfriend material.

Corbeau, on the other hand, has had quite a few relationships. Unfortunately, none of them lasted very long and some were purely physical in nature. Though, this isn't to say that they didn't hurt him when they ended.

He's seen people from all walks of life and he knows that some of the dirtiest secrets comes from those right at the top, and has a feeling that Terra might walk in similar circles. But despite that, he won't deny that he likes it when she drops by his office, makes his work a little less boring when she's slinging random questions at him like he's a search engine.

Philippe sees it all. The way his boss perks up when she steps into his office, and also the way he slumps back into his chair when she leaves. How Terra's time in Lumiose is limited and yet she chooses to spend much of it lazing around this office, and only when Corbeau's around.

Watching their behaviour become reminiscent of teenagers who tease each other because they're too afraid to admit their feelings to each other. Every playful jab laced with a little affection, whether they know it or not. He's not sure if they've noticed that they instinctively smile when they see each other.

Early on, he'd ask his boss if his prolonged periods spent around her were truly necessary to finding out her secret, and Corbeau would always insist that he's simply just "building trust" and "buttering her up" and those weren't things you could do overnight. His boss had also called him a fool for ever insinuating he'd fall for her so easily.

Philippe still had his doubts, but trusted that his boss knew what he was doing. But now, he's 100% sure that Corbeau's the fool.

But Philippe's determined that Terra's not out to get them or the City of Lumiose, so there's really no reason for them to stop being 'friendly' with each other.

If being with her makes his boss the happiest he's ever witnessed, who is he to take that away?
