We all know Caine's avatar generation isn't particularly great, but what if it was somehow even *worse*?

What if you were particularly unlucky, and didn't even get to face for your existential crisis with your own face?

The whole idea was inspired by Caine mentioning his algorithm to create bodies based on mind files, in episode 8

So I was chatting with @rileysfiles about the idea that Ragatha and Annabelle would just kinda reciprocate positivity and encouragement at eachother, in an infinite feedback loop. Resulting in them radiating nauseating amounts of being sweet and thoughtful at their fellow circus members

Anyways, they came up with a "Barely alive 6am Pomni getting flashbanged by two rays of sunshine" idea, and I had to sketch it out

Also it's the circus, so of course cooking involves nonsense minigames assume this is after Ann and Pomni finally start getting along

Hi! I love your AU so much! Don't know if this has been answered yet, but you mentioned that Annabelle sounds similar/kind of like Ragatha, but what separates Annabelle's voice from Ragatha's? Is it an accent or is it the tone of voice? Just a curious artist here! :D

Actually you asked this at the perfect time! I was just thinking about that yesterday.

They do have the same base voice, but Annabelle has a much more pronounced southern accent. She pretty much always speaks like how Ragatha spoke during the “tea parties, dancin lessons” bit at Spudsy’s.

though I’m not sure how to convey accent in text dialogue, aside from her using much more southern mannerisms. I’ll figure something out

Does Ann have any musical aptitude for playing an instrument or singing, or desire to do so?

Was listening to "Rag Doll" by Chi-Chi for the umpteenth time when it finally clicked that, a couple of times, the refrain is "I'm just another rag doll", and suddenly I'm wondering what Ann would be doing in the band vignette of the finale credits.

Apart from crowd surfing, of course, I feel like that'd be a given.

Annabelle was trained to play classical piano in her earlier life. But probably hasn’t touched it in years, and tbh she doesn’t really care to pick it up again

Annabelle would like to be a singer. She already quietly sings to herself while she is working. Though the new voice is an adjustment.

Once she gets the confidence up to properly burst into song in front of people, probably through karaoke night, she will be right up there with Gangle being a lead singer (or backup singer, they can take turns)

Also I didn’t even know about that song, new bop acquired!

THEORY

Its not a theory itself, but lore like a "this would be very interesting" so the non theory is

What if everyone avatar in the circus is based on with what they played the most while they were young?

Think about it: kinger maybe was a smart kid (or teached by his family, maybe his father and that would explain part of his father figure at the circus)

Queenie: the same with kinger but also this could add a bit more of implied lore: they probably meet during a chess match at a campus on university

Ragatha: a girl like ragatha probably had plenty of toys, but most of them probably dolls that were a gift from her aunts, or her mother gave dolls to her to "teach her to be a woman" or something

Jax: probably had or bunny plushes or yad a bunny pet, maybe Jax first contact with experimenting "femenine" things (bunnys are cute as hell, nothing to do with roles)

Gangle: probably gangle liked to act to her parents but once she tried to act in front of others in kindergarten she was too shy, the kids too mean and she slowly morphed her act expresion to draw expresion

Zooble: we know zooble had a job as a tattoo artist, bartender, so zooble abstract body surely is because zooble always played with free toys (like lego, dough, different kinds of combinable things, leaving zooble mind to grow expresive)

Pomni: uh... I dont know? I never seen jester toys... She played lots of balatro or something like that

Or well, if we want to be more free with the theory: pomni played a lot with her mind, with others too, surely she was like "ok, now im the dragon and you two are the knights" making her a jester, entertaining others, she grew with that until kids started saying she's too inmature and childish to keep playing like that

For the other abstracted ones:

Scratch would be my favorite: he played a lot with his doggy

Ribbit: played a lot in the mud, rain and things like that

Kaufmo: uhh... Probably liked to do pranks (based on clowns, once he grew he didnt made new ones, often grown people see most clown pranks like bad jokes)

I we want to think one for caine too: caine when created only had two functions, consume and create: mouth can consume, eyes too cause they consume the info by looking at it, caine being a digital thing if he speaks he creates, his voice is code so

Ooogghh IT'S DONE. I uh.... I wrote a Ragapom fanfic. The circus crew go on a hike and Pomni falls out of a tree. I didn't wanna spoil it by drawing a bunch of stuff from the fic, but I DID wanna show off everyone's outfits, so... here they are! :) Plus Ragatha carrying Pomni. I had to doodle that.
