Mr. Clark and I. When he isn’t being a total dick, he can be super duper sweet!!!
Good Grief. I need to get my camera charged and get back to taking photos. 2022 has been.... busy. I keep an old GoPro in the FJ at all times, just in case. This was a few months ago and I just got to clipping and cleaning it up. I love puddle jumping as long as there is nobody on the sidewalk.
The boys are out. They’re probably wondering about the turkey...
I may be on the edge of the high plains, but Mother Nature still struts her stuff. I have many colors of Indian Paintbrush, wild sage, and many others I need to look up.
The sunrise was beautiful this morning. It’ll change radically for the next few days.
One benefit to the deep freeze, there can be cool photo opportunities. Everyone stay safe and take care of each other.
I need to look up more often. The skies have been beautiful.
Soooo this poor guy had a rough Saturday. I usually open my garage door early in the morning to let cool air in. I opened it at 6:00 and went back out at 7:30 to go run errands. However I heard a hummingbird in the garage. Now that isn’t uncommon, but usually when they see me they fly right out. Not this guy. He was flying at the ceiling and wouldn’t come down to fly out. I debated running my errands, but didn’t want to keep the doors open. I cancelled my plans, and started weeding where I could still hear him flying in the garage. After an hour I got worried and put water and nectar up high where he could see it. I also drug out every red shirt I had and draped them in the openings of the garage doors, trying to lure him out. I went back to pulling weeds. By 11:00, the dogs and I were hot and tired of weeding. I put them inside and got myself a tall glass of water. I sat in the garage for about 4 hours, listening to him fly and take his breaks. I never saw him feed or drink. I texted my neighbors at 3:30 for backup. We caught the little guy finally. He was in rough shape. We started dripping water and nectar onto a feeder and let him lap it up. After a long hour of rest and a little nourishment he flew off. I tried to catch up on Sunday, but I’m still behind. TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Comet Neowise. 4:10am 7/11/2020 f/2.8 15 second exposure ISO 800 I haven’t made time for astrophotography in too long, but this turned out pretty good. Though I’m close to being in the boonies, Neowise was over my neighbor’s house and he has some bright lights so I fought the light pollution. I did minimal processing in lightroom.
Scarfy in all his glory!
2020 Update. Guess who’s back? Freaking SCARFY! I think his little girlfriend is back too, unless he has a new squeeze. Expect to see more of him in the coming weeks.
I finally got off of my butt and checked the game cameras I set up in January. Lots of deer photos. I spammed you all with a few of my favorites. Ii put new batteries in the cameras and wired them up to solar chargers. I’ll keep messing with locations until all four are getting photos. So far, the ones along the draws and in the tree line are doing the best. Have a great day!
We hear Coyotes all the time. I was thrilled when I saw this one!
This is my favorite shot! Magpies are noisy and Lois hates them, but this photo is pretty damn good!
There were quite a few of these. Looks like one of the magpies likes the camera for a perch. Fine by me.
I couldn’t help but love this one.
