Bob Wills Is Still The King-Waylon Jennings

I'm currently taking a country music class and we've started studying Western Swing, and therefore Bob Wills. This class has been such a pleasure and was one of the reasons I started this blog. Anyway, it reminded me of this song, which Aaron Watson covers in concert sometimes. I always think it's pretty cool when one artist takes time to recognize those that have come before him and pay tribute.

Justin Moore "Off the Beaten Path" Album Review

Let me start out by saying I've listened to this album at least 15 times in the past two days. I really do wish I was kidding.

To me this album had songs that were typical Justin like "Beer" which felt pretty similar to "Guns" from his last album. It also had other fun songs like "Dirt Road Kid" and "Off the Beaten Path", which seem to be what Justin is most known for in popular country music. 

Where Justin continues to get me is his more serious songs like "Old Habits" feat. Miranda Lambert and "One Dirt Road". On every album he has a few that I feel never get as much love as they should. Whenever he does songs like these live e.g. "Grandpa" you can feel the awe in the crowd. It's actually quite amazing.

Overall, I love the mix of songs that Justin gives us on this extensive album. He definitely deserves all of the praise he's been getting for this one.

I feel like Chris Young's "Goodbye" was written from such a genuinely hurt place. It perfectly describes how you feel when the love of your life is walking away and you can't do a thing to change it.
