when tyrion is accused of killing joffrey, joanna cannot idly stand by while her children kill each other. so she “admits to being the one to poison him as she saw aerys madness inside the boy too”.    

she will give her life for her children. for her husband. for her grandchildren. she will not think twice of it.

she does not agree when children are punished for the sins or crimes of their parents / families. she will fight against it, whether tywin or anyone else disagrees, and she will not back down.

joanna provides tyrion with a little more attention than she does the twins. this is only because she understands the injustice he’ll face, regardless of his lannister name, for something that was and is beyond his control.

joanna is loyal to a fault. her judgement becomes clouded when her family are in danger. morals, values and the core of who she is as a person disappear. it’s a slippery, dangerous slope and she tries her hardest not to let it happen.

she can ride horses better than most men. challenge her and see it for yourself. 

she is skilled with alchemy. with potions. with poisons. it was something her father had made sure she knew of. she cannot wield a sword so instead she wield’s her mind and her skill set of these topics.
