Lighting a yahrzeit candle to commemorate and celebrate the 17 souls lost in the MSD shooting. A week ago I was rejoicing with my Philadelphia Eagles family, and today I mourn with our Douglas Eagles. It is absolutely surreal watching this story unfold. Parkland was recently voted Florida's safest town, and I always felt secure at my alma mater. Never in a million years would I have thought the place I spent 4 of the most influential years of my life would fall victim to a senseless massacre. Nobody ever thinks these events will actually affect them but as is evidenced by yesterday's attack, this can happen literally anywhere in our country. Thoughts and prayers are simply not enough.
