Memory: Falling in Love

The first day he had been given an interview turned out to be the job that would change his life. He met with a short but broad man for his first interview. He was very specific with his questions, wanted to know his specialties and what he knew about the supernatural world. It was public and they all lived together at this point but his mom and sister were both witches, of course he didn't mention that. The thing is neither did they, at least not that it was important to his job, just to make sure he was able to fight against them. He made it to his second interview this man was much different, tall and thin but still built in a way to make him look strong and confident. At the end of the interview he hired Ryker on the spot, even said his name was meant to have the job.

When he started he hadn't yet met the girl, he assumed she was some spoiled rich girl but literally the moment he saw her he felt like he could die. She wasn't only gorgeous but she was smart and funny. As time when on he wished he wasn't working for her dad, because maybe something more could happen, he was literally her 24 hour bodyguard and he had no problem with it.

After about a year he didn't know how much longer he could do this for. He knocked on her bedroom door and waited for her voice. When she said to come in he opened the door but didn't go inside, he hated breaking rules. She smiled and told him to get in and close the door. He swallowed and looked around a bit nervous "My dad won't care if I told you to come in here" he frowned and took a slow step he would have been fine talking to her at the door. "I don't know about that... your dad is a little scary" he said quietly. She just laughed and told him to take a seat but he just shook his head "Amelia, I need to talk to you..." he paused and took a breath "I need to leave... you- this job" he started quietly "Because I have developed certain feelings..." as soon as he said the word he noticed her stand and jump from her bed and onto him kissing him immediately, he caught her automatically but it was instinct and he pulled from the kiss "what are you do-" but her lips cut him off again

He hadn't quit his job, she wouldn't let him, he had found that she felt the same. Since they were always together you would think it would be easy but it wasn't with her father and his men all over the place, but they managed to stay together and happy.

Ryker was walking around town making some visits, he was doing pretty well learning people's names. Suddenly he heard a squeal of tires and turned not surprised to see the only mustang in town speeding down Main Street. Ryker sighed and walked out onto the street holding his hand up and pulling the car over "you know the rules Mr. Ehrich" he frowned as he wrote the kid a ticket "you are lucky it's only a speeding ticket I'm giving you. If this happens again it will be reckless driving and I'll have to take your licence." He handed him the ticket and bid the boy good day before moving on to the next shop.

I met Ophelia, sweet girl, I gave her a bunch of things so that she doesn’t have to make herself look suspicious if shes shopping for somethings at the store.

Hello Cher, how has your day been?

Hi, Yeah It's been a long day but pretty good. How about your day? Anything interesting?

Ophelia hugged her arms around her Father and buried her face in his chest. "You'll never lose me Daddy.." she said quietly and smiled up at him, she hoped he didn't think there was ever a chance he would. The blonde knew how absolutely paranoid the man was about losing them after losing his wife.. "Me or Arthur." The girl tucked her hair behind her ear and stepped away, it broke her heart every time she saw truly just how scared and paranoid he was. She always pictured him as strong and stable.. But she knew sometimes.. "And I know you won't ever leave.. We love you Daddy.." she picked up her bag off the floor and gave a bit of a sigh. "I'll keep you up to date on whatever I do.. Though I promise I won't be going out much." And she probably wouldn't, she didn't want to cause him any more pain. She loved him so much, and he really didn't deserve any of this..

He smiled and hugged her back bringing his hand to the back of her head and kissed the top of it. Sometimes he wondered if she was an adult if maybe he was being to crazy, but then he saw a picture of his family and it made him think again, that he was right to worry. he trusted no one in the world other then his kids. "I love you baby-doll" she whispered with a smile. When she started talking and reassuring him he smiled again "I'm glad" he said quetly. When she stepped back he grabbed his beer and pushed the chair back in. "I love you both too" he didn't know how he would "Please just let me know, but you can go out, I am totally okay with that as long as I know... and if you ever get in trouble... even drinking, or with guys... just let me know and I will be there in a moment"

The girl nodded and sighed, she knew he only wanted her safe. It was what he had been trained to do before, keep people safe and protected. She did feel safe around him, always. And she was sure her Mother used to too.. "I am happy.." she stated quietly and smiled a bit up at her Father. "I'm happy here with you and Arthur.. I'm happy with you anywhere." He lived for keeping the both of them safe and she was scared for him.. She was scared one day something was going to happen and in the crossfire's he'd be gone too.. Ophelia wiped at her eye and stood up. "I won't sneak out ever again Daddy.." she replied and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I promise." Freedom? No, she couldn't have any more freedom. That would only cause him to be even more worried and jittery about her than he already was.. "It's okay, I really don't need any more.." she smiled a bit and glanced to the stairs, "I.. I think I'm going to go to my room now.."

"It doesn't matter where i go either, as long as I am with you two I'm happy, you need to understand that. I don't want to lose you, it has nothing to do with what you can do, its because you're my daughter, my baby-doll." he frowned and wished she wasn't so sad. Every parent had to discipline their children even the perfect children. "Nothing will ever make me leave you, I won't ever abandon you, I will be here till the very end, you need to believe me." when she wiped her eye he looked down, he hated being the one to make her sad. He just wish she understood, his kids were the only reason he was still alive, if it wasn't for them he didn't think he would have had the will to live after that night. "Just please don't sneak out, just tell me where you want to go, I know I can't keep you away from boys, and parties forever, its impossible, but maybe if you just share with me, tell me where you are going, then i will be okay." When she said she was going to go to her room he stood up and held out his arms. If she didn't want to hug him, okay, but it would be her choice, he would force her to hug him "I just don't want to lose you" he ended quietly

Did he not think she knew all of this? She had heard it all and thought it all before. Sacrifices sacrifices sacrifices. Always for her, everything was for her. Everything they did and the reason they did it was for her. She was tired of feeling like such a heavy burden on her Father and Brother, because she knew she was. She hated it so much. All she ever did was make their lives more difficult and dangerous.. Everything would be better if she had just been taken too. Ophelia squeezed her eyes shut and sniffled, she wished she had been taken with her Mum. She missed her so much, she wished she wasn't gone. The blonde felt like she barely knew the woman, but she craved her absolutely. Disappointment, all she was was disappointment. She had thought the word before. But now it was jammed into her brain like a knife, her heart broke a bit. There was something when someone you loved told you they were disappointed.. It made you feel sad, angry.. But most of all guilty. Why couldn't she do better? Why hadn't she known better.. God she felt so stupid.. He couldn't trust her, he shouldn't trust her. She was just a liability hanging over the both of her family members heads.

He saw how sad she looked, she obviously didn't mean to do any of it, he knew she didn't. He walked over to her and put his beer down on the table pulling her chair out and crouching down in front of her so he was looking up at her "You know I love you Baby-doll, I just want you safe. I would give my life for you a million times over if I had to, I don't want to lose you too. My life before your mother and you and Arthur... I did this, I was a protector, you know that, you know the story of your mother and myself." he frowned and touched her cheek "I want you happy, healthy and home with us. I wish your mother was here more then anyone, or maybe the same as you and your brother but you know I would do anything for you three." He frowned a bit "I heard you talking to one of the people in the last town, you are not a burden, keeping you safe is what I live for, its not a burden, even if your mother was here and we were all normal I would still worry about you. I want you to have a good and happy life... I want you to have freedom" he swallowed hard, he was scared "Maybe we can talk about giving you more freedom, but you can't be sneaking out. I need to know where you are... keep in contact. I can't lose you... don't you know that you and your brother... your my entire life."

Ophelia nodded as she heard the familiar voice and shakily pushed her glasses up her nose. God, she had never made her Father angry before.. Not seriously or since she was small at least.. And she had a feeling this was going to be a doozy. As her feet brushed against the…

Ophelia sat down at the table and clasped her hands together in her lap. She had never been so disappointed in herself all her life, and there was a kind of guilt crawling up her spine that she had never felt before. “I know..” she said quietly and brushed her hair back out of her face. “I’m.. I’m really sorry..” she stated as she stared down at her hands. She didn’t want to look up, didn’t want to meet his eyes. She wasn’t even entirely sure what to say..

He didn't even know how to go about this he was so angry. He went over to the fridge and grabbed a beer. "You know why we have been moving around most of your life. It's to keep you safe, keep you alive." He was looking out the window now "you don't think they would have took you when they took your mother if they had known you were there? Trust me they would have." He took a breath. "You going and sneaking out is making the sacrifices that have been made for you useless." He didn't want to be mad, but he really was "what if they were out there Ophelia, what if they saw you?" He finally turned to look at her "I have never been so disappointed in your entire life." He took another drink "I thought I taught you better then that" he knew she was a teenager and he wanted to give her more freedom but he was scared. "If you want to be trusted you need to give me a reason"

Ophelia nodded as she heard the familiar voice and shakily pushed her glasses up her nose. God, she had never made her Father angry before.. Not seriously or since she was small at least.. And she had a feeling this was going to be a doozy. As her feet brushed against the pavement of the path to the house they grew heavier. Each step seemed to be a labor and her stomach grew tighter and tighter.. She crossed over the threshold of the door and slumped off her shoes. “Y-yes Daddy?” she asked quietly and carefully looked up at him.

When she walked in he pointed towards the kitchen. “Kitchen please” he said as he walked by her and went to the kitchen leaning on the counter and pointing to the kitchen table so she sat down. She was never one to upset him, it was always Arthur getting into trouble, he wasn’t used to that. He took a drink of his coffee and cleared his throat “I am pretty sure you know why we are here right now… I am seriously… I have never been so disappointed you in before…”

Daddy be Mad

He had came home early, since he still had Glenn working for him he thought that he would be able to talk to Ophelia when she woke up, but time went on and he went to check on her. He was shocked when he found her bed fixed, she wasn't even in her room. He watched out the window and when he saw her walking up the street he opened the door and stood there waiting for with his gun strap on but not his suit jacket and his arms crossed "We need to talk" he said seriously when she got into earshot.

I can't believe my baby-doll would break a rule set to keep her safe.

"Daddy we are happy.." she said quietly and smiled softly at the man, "You make us happy, you work so hard to and we appreciate it so much.." she tilted her head to the side. Ophelia hated it when he was like this, she felt her heart twist inside her chest. He put so much pressure on himself and she knew most of it had to do with her and her brother.. "And you know it feels like home here.. It feels like home wherever we go, really.." she stated. It did feel like home wherever they went, he worked always to make it that way.

He swallowed hard and looked over at his daughter, her words made him smile. "I try to make it feel like that, but sometimes I don't see that you two are enjoying your time, or even just enjoying anything" he knew it was a long time ago but they were all still suffering, and running just reminded them of how much they lost. "I know as long as we are together its home, no matter where we are." He went over to the table and kissed her head "I'm a little tired and I have to be up early to meet Glenn so I am going to head to sleep. Love you Baby doll. I will leave money out for the shopping in the morning" he kissed her head and headed upstairs.
