Hi new peeps. Go play Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, it's magnificent!
Just finished playing Sherlock Holmes Chapter One and I am genuinely desperate. The ending stabbed me. The multiple endings finished me. I can't find any content about it. Nobody talks about it. WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS GAME?
"Please be careful, Sherry. I love you."
I AM CONVULSING ON THE FLOOR
A simple collection of my favourite croft's quotes:
“I’m only here for you.” “Was all this worth it? Is he worth it?” “The big picture, Sherlock! The big picture!” “You were so fragile. I could not-… I just couldn’t. I chose us over him.” “I am afraid for him […] and I suspect he is growing paranoid.” “I saved my brother. He will never forgive me.” “You are your mother’s son.” “You were a child! She did this to you, not you unto her!” “Interesting, Sherlock, that as you again drift away from sanity, you find yourself another John.” “The Holmes family is beyond counselling.” “I’m worried about Sherlock. He’s not well. You should know that he has had episodes in the past. Detachment from reality. He will need your support.” “Ugh, your emotions are impeding your rationality. He needs to be distracted, diverted onto something less harmful.” “The last case he pursued was Cordona. He came home a wreck, and this time I fear he may not return at all.”
Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.
I finally posted my first official chapter of also my first ff 🥹

Happy Asexual Awareness Week from Sherry and me! 🖤🤍💜
don't know how useful or relevant these are to anyone other than me but i made myself pride icons with my scrunkly <3 dont know how much the overlap is with "people who want pride icons" and "people who want shco icons" but i can also replace the bi flag with others upon request super easily! :)
screaming, crying, throwing up, as I force myself to write a story i'm very passionate about and love writing and have no obligation to write except that i want to
Ko-Fi sketch reward for @jonlock!
She wanted modern AU Jon, and I was instantly possessed by the spirit of the Hackers (1995). Anyone remember the Chupa Chups lollipops that had the candy "tattooed" and there were temporary tats inside? 😂
I do fun sketches for my Ko-Fi members, everyone is welcome to join!
Ansel horrors.
the most essential part of a fandom are those people who immediately tell you to write it, draw it, make it when you share your ideas, you have no idea how many fanworks are born just because someone encouraged it
another great way to make sure this continues is pressing the reblog button and going insane in the tags
immediately adding ‘fandom conga lines’ to my vocab
