Snow Day (Barnaby x Slytherin MC)
Summary: I wanted to join in on the HPHM 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and thought the Snow Day with Barnaby would make a cute, fluffy fic idea. As always, feedback is appreciated!
āCome on!ā Liz said to Barnaby as she hurried toward exit of the Slytherin common room. Almost everyone seemed to be getting into the holiday spirit, and after waking up to several inches of snow, students couldnāt wait to spend a festive Saturday afternoon in Hogsmeade.
āArenāt you coming with us, (Y/N)?ā Barnaby asked, pausing at the door.
You were sitting in front of the crackling fireplace, enjoying the warmth of the flames, as well as the dimness of the common room. While you loved Christmas and had a great time decorating the Great Hall with your friends last week, you were feeling inexplicably lonely this morning. You missed spending holidays with Jacob, and you doubted any amount of Butterbeer or Chocolate Frogs would help much. āNo, I think Iām just going to catch up on some homework,ā you said, forcing a smile.
āSuit yourself,ā Liz said while opening the door. āIāll be downing Butterbeers and making snow animals if anyone needs me.ā
You waited for Barnaby to follow behind her, but to your surprise, he didnāt. āWant me to hang back with you?ā he asked, approaching the fireplace.
The thought brought a small smile to your face, but you werenāt about to ruin his day. āNo, you go ahead,ā you said with a wave of your hand.
Barnaby frowned and sat down in the chair beside you. āWhatās wrong?ā
