Louis still freezes when he gets spooked. His other options include: run or gun
hi I’m not dead I’m just literally planning on making an animated series so I’ve been doing a lot of animation
am I writing? no. am I thinking about retrying that animation? yeah
pollyannastic:
“….”
He was silent as he took Louis’s anger towards him in. Most carnivores would be upset or intimidated to have an herbivore snap at them like such, but for Jack he only looked a bit saddened, maybe even a bit disappointed at the anger thrown his way.
“I just gave you a compliment.” Jack noted out, his eyes focused on the other almost sharply.
“But, it seems like you just took my words and twisted them in order to MAKE it into an insult to you.” Jack pointed out, knowing it’d be better to stand his ground than try to take ALL the blame.
“My intent wasn’t to make it seem you’re ONLY strong because you’re still doing stuff while suffering.” With flattened ears a low sigh was given.
“Why are you suddenly being mean to me?” Jack asked with genuine innocence–unknowing to the things the other had faced.
Had he? Louis couldn’t even remember Jack’s exact words. He pawed at the ground with one foot, dragging shoe through dirt. A part of him wanted to just run and leave the conversation. Flee like prey even though he knew his leg wouldn’t stand up to it. Just walking hurt, he hadn’t tried anything else for fear of falling. “Then what was your intention?” His voice was soft for once. It sounded younger to his ears. Naive and childish like a fawn on unsteady feet. “Am I not always mean?” The deer breathed a humorless laugh. “You should hear what people who don’t like me say.” School was near comparable to being out in the wild. Every animal for themselves. Even a tightly knit herd would scatter at the first sign of danger. “If I could lead lions, I’m probably not a great person.”
startingovertime:
It was not a good day for Legoshi–or a good time, to be more accurate–for his seasonal winter coat had grown in. That, paired with the fact of his clothes barely fitting him with his summer coat, left the poor wolf looking quite like a gigantic mutant Muppet. Oh, Rex, how the wolf wanted nothing more than to vanish into the ground beneath their feet and become one with the earth they lived on…
Usually, he’d hide much of his new furry bulk under jackets or hoodies. However, he’d since outgrown all the ones he had and he had yet to buy new ones, thus… resulting in his new, embarrassing, cartoonish sillhouette plain for all the world to see… including Louis. Legoshi sighed, grateful that Louis had opted to ask questions instead of poking fun at him, at least. “N-No, it’s, uh- i-it’s… it’s not a good thing to, um- f-for double-coated canines to get shaved, no. I-It’d, um- it’d put us at… at higher risk of, like- sunburn a-and overheating, and, um… stuff.”
He would’ve thought that a wolf that had killed or maimed a substantial amount of animals would have enough confidence not to stutter. What has to be done for Legoshi to be comfortable in his own skin? Louis tugged at the scarf wrapped around neck, jabbing a finger through the knit. “Then you’re stuck just brushing and hoping it thins out.” His own coat thickened up a bit, mostly around neck and chest giving him a more distinctive appearance as a male. As if the antlers weren’t enough though he thought some cervid females had antlers that didn’t shed until mid winter. “Can you clip it? How are you not overheating right now?”
I’m isolated so I have a new animation project tryna animate louis n I might stream it tomorrow if my pain is down
That right there is a deer who leads a pack of lions.

@startingovertime said: “ don’t laugh. ”
Has he really never seen a wolf in winter coat? Louis doesn’t think the other canines get the seriously thicker fur in colder weather. Wolves were adapted to harsher climates of a different sort than hyenas or dogs. “I am not laughing.” He’s trying not to at least. Quite a few animals have awkward periods during the seasons. Cervids grow and shed their antlers, both of which don’t look too good. Apparently wolves got extremely fluffy. Poofy. Big in a way that he was sure was intimidating in the dark, but not when he knew the carnivore. Knew the wolf was at least half fur at this moment. “You’re double coated, aren’t you? I’ve heard it’s bad for double coated canines to get shaved.”

what’ve you done to your hair?
i’m not feeling well.
i just want to get out of these pants and lie down for a bit.
you’re white as a sheet.
i’m going to grab you a glass of water.
your color’s coming back.
look, feel my heart, it’s beating up my throat.
do you think you’ll be able to drive?
you in pain, hon?
you’ve always got your head in the clouds.
people talk less when their mouths are full.
are you done with your food?
aren’t you going to sit down so you can hear what i have to say?
is there something you’d like to ask me?
you’re not in control.
we’ll keep on trying. isn’t that what life is? a series of trials?
things get lost between my head and my mouth and they never come back.
there are times when i’m so good at hiding the truth i don’t even recognize the story anymore.
you try to rationalize everything, analyze everything, scrutinize everything. try feeling instead.
we have a deal, remember?
there’s nothing wrong with you. you’re doing just great.
when someone touches me, i feel scared, repulsed.
any mention of intimacy feels me with dread.
thinking about stuff helps me get to important places.
whatever happened, it wasn’t your fault.
i find your lack of imagination kind of tiresome.
i know you’re busy and everything, but fuck, you’re always running away.
have i always been this sad?
you don’t have to say anything. that was silly of me. i’m sorry.
i still haven’t gotten used to the idea.
i wouldn’t wish that sort of death on anyone.

Louis didn’t grow his first set of antlers until after leaving the black market.
I’m officially quarantined, but will I be productive? probably not
also if you’re cool with pre-established relationships/dynamics where we skip all the awkwardness of starting to roleplay with someone new and jump straight to plotting a little and tagging each other in stuff hmu
Louis sometimes has a hard time reading and speaking when he’s tired or in a bad mental state because of how long he spent not knowing how.
pollyannastic:
“Oh…I’m sorry.” Ears lightly flatten and his tail droops only for a moment, before he perks up again.
“Well, what preference do you go by? I could make a MUCH better suiting pun for you then!”
The way the dog bounded back was almost annoying. Did all labs brush things off that fast? “Oh-uh...I like...males.”
pollyannastic:
The only thing Jack had knew from that day—was that Legoshi left the school to go on a run, and unfortunaetly never returned. Then, he heard from the olive branch that he had gotten expelled?!
The reason was something Jack wanted more than anything, but everyone remained rather tight lipped on even speaking on the issue—almost like they were trained on it.
Jack blinked, taking in every word the herbivore said—before his mind stuck on the comment of being a bit behind on classwork.
“Well…if you ever need any help with your classwork—I’m more than willing to help you out! I know you’re a third year, but I got a good grasp on the concepts you guys are learning.”
He knew his domestic dog smart wasn’t something he’d proudly showcase—especially when it was a target for bullying, but he honestly wanted to make sure Louis didn’t get buried with bad grades for not having work turned in.
Peering at his metal foot just for a moment—Jack’s eyes went back to the deer.
“Louis, you’re really strong. To just…still come to school despite your injury and get things done. You really don’t let it limit what you want to do.” A genuine smile was thrown the others way—the other seemed like a special kind of herbivore to Jack.
“Thanks.” It was hard not to like the lab. In another life, Louis thought they might’ve been better friends. If they were even friends now. He wasn’t very good at making friends. Not with predators or prey. His ears twitched at Jack’s next comment, chin tucking instinctively in anger. “And if I did?” He snapped, harsher than he wanted to. “Does that make a difference? Would I not be strong then?” Fingers curl and dig blunt nails into fur. He felt too angry for the situation. “It’s not-it’s not that big of a deal. Shit happens, animals get hurt. It’s just an annoying long process to get everything healed and fitted properly.”
for the record I am not currently caught up with the manga
