Tell Kenoshi School District to stop forcing transgender students to wear arm bands!

Ash Whitaker came out as transgender to his parents in the eighth grade and to “a few close friends” during to his freshman year. Then, at the start of his sophomore year he formally came out to “all of his teachers and peers.” The Whitakers say that the trouble began later that year.

Kenosha Unified School District instructed guidance counselors to have Ash Whitaker, a 16-year old transgender boy (who recently, after a petition was created, was allowed to run as prom king), and “any other transgender students at the school” wear “bright green wristbands” so that the school could “more easily monitor and enforce [their] restroom usage.”

But the most alarming allegations in the suit are claims that the school essentially created a surveillance program to control Ash’s bathroom use. Melissa, who taught at Tremper, claimed that school administrators sent an email to security guards in April 2016 “instructing them to notify administrators if they spotted any students who appear to be going into the ‘wrong’ restroom.”

The next month, Melissa claims, Ash’s guidance counselor introduced the troubling “bright green wristband practice” for transgender students. The Whitakers believe this policy was aimed directly at Ash but they were allegedly told that it would apply to “any other transgender students at the school” as well.

“Ash felt like his safety would be even more threatened if he had to wear this visible badge of his transgender status,”

I havn’t bought any clothes or done any photos in a while because I have been saving my pennies but I had a hen do this weekend and wanted to look fun so I cracked out my card and subsequently my boobs.

Normally I find skater dresses kind of boring but I loved the cage detailing on this. I was a bit nervous about having so much on show but I feel like hen do’s are really what this kind of dress is made for? Dress is Asos Curve as are the sensible flats.

Canada: No more Trophy Hunts for Polar Bears

Canada is the only nation in the world that allows Polar Bear hunting by non-natives and non-citizens.

Of the estimated 20,000-22,000 Polar Bears worldwide, 60% of them live in Canada.

Polar Bears are currently at a threatened status, with worldwide treaties in place for their protection. Even so, Canada still allows trophy hunters to pay for the opportunity to kill a Polar Bear.

Selling hunting licenses to trophy hunters creates a bloody business where hunters sell tours to Canada for the sole purpose of killing a Polar Bear. With a price tag of $49,950 US, one hunting lodge claims to have a “virtual 100% success rate” at killing a polar bear and you can have as many observers as you would like for an additional $9,950 each.

The sickening treatment of these majestic animals must stop.

Please join me in petitioning the Canadian Government in pohibiting non-native hunts of Polar Bears!

proof that hunting isn’t based on scientific fact or what’s actually good for the animals and planet, it’s based off money. they’ll claim that what they’re doing is a-ok because the money goes towards “conservation” but the department of fish and wildlife, the people who decide how many animals are to be “harvested” or killed, are paid by the revenue made by hunting tags. this is a really good video on the subject! please educate yourself and sign petitions against these people!

Okay so the best thing,the best thing about Sirs Patrick & Ian being best friends is that they met because of the X-Men movie.

I saw Sir Patrick speak a year or so ago and someone asked him about their friendship. He told this story about how I think they’d once or twice worked on the same production but had had very little interaction, and that when he’d been a kid, he’d utterly looked up to Sir Ian, who had had an established theater career at a very young age.

People assume that they’ve been friends since they were young, which makes sense given the sort of work they’ve done and their career trajectories, but no. Sir Patrick basically had a giant hero-crush-from-a-distance on Sir Ian for most of his life AND THEN on the set of X-Men, their trailers were put next to each other and they were significantly older than anyone else on the set, so they started spending their downtime together.

And became inseparable. And this is amazing.

So everyone who wants a friend like this, you have time. <3
