"I have a question, there was an incident that occurred on Friday night. Two employees boyfriend's (involved in different gangs) were involved in a violent incident. The employee's boyfriends got into a fight and eventually each gang got involved in beating each other and gunshots were fired, no one was hurt. This violent incident happened outside the store during business hours. I know that the employees weren't involved in any way, but is any disciplinary action required in this situation? "We have an employee that smokes one of those vapor pipes, which he hangs around his neck On a lanyard he is consistency smoking it at his desk which he sits in an office by himself. But he also smokes it even at company meetings while people are right next to him either eating , sitting or giving a presentation. Seems rude at the very least however we have a few employees complaining of the action and smell of the scented oils he uses in the pipe. Can we say something legally? Same employee , consistently hacking , and clearing his throat every few mins all day ? It is disturbing to most all, therefore we have moved him from a pooled sitting area to his own personal office. However we can still hear him. loudly… is there anything we can say?"

"Hello. An employee was at work and basically "blanked" out. She did not know where she was or why she was at her desk. She could not tell us if she had a medical condition so we called 911. At the hospital the test results came back that she was legally intoxicated a 4.8 blood alcohol level. we have no proof that she was drinking at work, however the test results are confirmed. Can we terminate her?"

"We hired an employee to work as a Case Manager in our addiction treatment center. A BA degree is preferred and counselor certification is required for this position. During the application process, this employee indicated she had the certification (which we were able to verify online), a BA degree, a MA degree as well as a DD degree (Doctor of Divinity). We paid her over the top of our pay scale due to her stated credentials. Upon hire we provide employees with Credential Verification forms to verify education and credentials. We were unable to verify her degrees. She provided us with copies of her degrees and transcripts for the BA, MA and DD degrees. Upon our investigating, we discovered that her degrees came from some controversial online, unaccredited institutions that are based overseas. Her DD degree comes from an online institution that grants honorary DD degrees and allows people to become ministers at the click of a button and payment of a fee (made famous by Conan Obrien on TV)."
