Argentina imported 50 beavers from Canada in 1946 for creating a fur industry. While the industry failed to viably materialise, the spread of beavers posed a challenge. In the absence of a natural predator, the beaver population is destroying the long-protected indigenous trees at the park and surrounding areas. Pictured here is a beaver dam, which can flood certain areas and drown other vegetation and trees.
