Questions

Hello there! So I definitely plan on coming back for a bit during winter break which is coming soon! I'm super excited as I've missed the durarara fandom! (And there's tons of advertisements for the new season here that I see in stations so I'll be posting pics of them!) Also I've been getting a couple questions from people asking me about life in Japan, school, being a foreigner here, if I like Tokyo, Japanese and just about my new life here in general. I just wanted to let you all know to feel free to ask me any and all questions! I like talking about my experiences and giving advice so if any of you are thinking about studying abroad in Japan or wherever else or learning Japanese or moving here, feel free to ask me! I won't go into too much personal detail like my school name or other very personal things like that but seriously ask me! I wish I had the opportunity to ask someone all my questions before I came! Some generic info about moving here (because I've gotten some questions on it): moving to Japan has completely changed my view of it Japan and Tokyo itself about 100%. I've had a lot of downs and the most stress I've ever experienced while being here (some only applicable to me, a lot not). Being a foreigner here is hard. I was not expecting to live a ghibli movie life but I do from time to time. This is not anime land (I didn't come here for anime by the way) and you have to accept that fast because it's not smiled upon if you're only here for anime. Everyday is a new experience and it's incredible but also a culture shock a lot of the time. I do recommend coming with at least some Japanese knowledge, and I really recommend coming in general! But yeah please feel free to ask me any questions about Japan/Tokyo/college! I've done and experienced a lot my first semester and am willing to talk about it to anyone interested in trying to come here!

Guess which part of Tokyo I just bought an apartment in today! (I s2g it's because of price and not drrr ;) also hello again, I've been incredibly busy living, studying, and working in Tokyo but I'm super happy. I hope to pick this blog up again during my winter break and one I'm all settled in in my first and new place! Until then, Happy thanksgiving! I'm missing pumpkin pie right now! I also really appreciate you guys still following me! Drrr is being heavily advertised for its new season! So exciting!

Indefinite Hiatus

Hi everyone! So I’m going to be leaving for college in Tokyo on Tuesday! I’m really nervous and excited but with college, moving, being alone for the first time, and living in a foreign country, I’m going to be super busy (not to mention tired!). And I will not be able to update this blog for the time being.

I feel like I haven’t been on here very often in the past few months either, and tbh I haven’t been keeping up with Drrr/shizaya like I used to or even really enjoying anime like I used to. This blog has been mainly mobile whenever I’m bored for a while now. I think I need a little break.

I don’t know when I’ll be back (probably when I start having free time! but I’ll most likely just be reblogging from time to time on mobile, checking my inbox every once in a while). I don’t think I can update this blog as much as I used to. It makes me sad but I know I won’t have time or motivation to :(

I want to thank all of my 5k for following me and having awesome discussions about Drrr! It’s been really fun and I hope to be back soon! Thanks for sticking with me!

Izaya wasn’t sure why the handsome stranger got in Shinra’s car with him, but he wasn’t about to complain.

It was raining so the moment the black car pulled up, Izaya immediately got into the backseat, glaring at Shinra. “You know,” he had begun, “next time you say you’re right outside, it’d be best if you were right outside instead of ten minutes away.”

“Well, I was factoring in the time that it would take you to open the door–”

“Ten minutes?”

And that was when the other door opened, the car shifted with the new weight. The man had his coat pulled over his head and, to Izaya’s disdain, he shook his head like a dog, sending water spraying everywhere. He barked out ‘oi, start drivin’!’ in such a gruff, angry tone that Shinra nearly squeaked and began to do so, foot slamming down on the gas pedal.

Meanwhile, Izaya just stared.

He wore a black rain coat; it didn’t look like anything that was particular high quality, but it was just a normal little thunderstorm, humidity keeping it from being cold. Izaya wore a trench coat; his hair was also a bit damp but the other’s was soaking, so he assumed he’d been standing out there for much longer.

He cleared his throat but the other didn’t look over, just intently stared out the window.

He tried again but still no answer.

A deep sigh moved his shoulders and Izaya raised an eyebrow as he began talking, hand ruffling his hair and turning to the front. “Sorry about that Celty, I didn’t mean to snap at you… I just really don’t want to be late to Kasuka’s movie premiere, I even tried to look nice…”

“And yet you still act like a dog.”

The man turned to him and stared incredulously. When he asked ‘who the hell are you?’ and Shinra answered ‘are you going to rob us? Take Izaya, he’s worth more!’, the blond stared between them, seeming to grow more and more surprised with every moment.

Izaya smirked.

“What the… WHAT THE FUCK, I’M IN THE WRONG CAR?”

“So what were you trying to make tonight?”

“…Chicken…”

“And what happened this time? Took a shower? Phone call? Fell asleep?”

“…I wanted to make sure it was cooked…”

“Well,” Izaya sighed, turned to the building where the fire alarms were still going off in unison, “cooked it is…”

Heiwajima Shizuo was an awful cook. Izaya had learned this the first time he set off the fire alarm; everyone else was too busy being annoyed but Izaya easily picked out the guilty looking one and approached him, asked if it was his fault and got a sad nod in return.

At least he was trying; that was commendable.

Izaya just wished it didn’t force him out of his apartment. But it seemed Shizuo only cooked for dinner; he worked during the day (or slept in late) so Izaya very quickly figured out when to either stay out or keep from doing something that he wouldn’t appreciate being interrupted during.

But he soon began making sure he was home, if only so he could have an excuse to talk to him.

“Shizu-chan,” Izaya drawled, “how about you just… buy dinner?”

He frowned and raised a hand to run through his hair. “Uh… well, I can’t afford to eat out everyday…”

“What about lunch?”

“I don’t know. Sometimes I skip. Usually when there’s no sale on food about to expire in the convenience stores.”

Izaya frowned. “That’s not good.”

Shizuo gave a weak shrug. “Well–”

“So I’ll take Shizu-chan out for dinner three times a week and cook the other four times, all right? Come over around six.”

“I–”

“Ah! Bring whatever vegetables you have. Shizu-chan can chop them while I deal with the chicken. Shizu-chan can chop, right?”

“…”

“…All right, Shizu-chan can just wash dishes.”
