TL;DR: I write edgy things.

There was a post by a really popular blog, what feels like AGES AGO now, that posted a homebrew DnD paladin Oath and I kinda just…fell in love with the idea. Redemption had always been a really big thing for me, even if I hadn’t always realized in what way, so when I saw the take on Oath of Redemption something just sorta…clicked and @sylrin-featherblade​ was born. Then I quit WoW because Blizzard fucking sucks and moved him to FFXIV because I was that attached and…well, now he’s a hot mess. But the story is the same. 

The only difference is this time around I wanted to showcase the ugly crawl back from the dark. I didn’t want a happy insta-fix the way I had given it to him in WoW. I wanted to explore what it really meant to struggle to find the happy medium between holding yourself accountable for what you’ve done and not knowing when enough is enough. I think it’s a really hard thing to gauge for a lot of people, especially in the case of those without support systems. And even for people with support systems. I’ve said a few times (both in discord and on my blogs) that I want to tell the ugly story, I want to showcase what it means to struggle and it not to be this beautifully wrapped gift for the world to see. Which is funny considering that post from earlier. J/k it’s not funny, it’s actually kinda sad. So ya know, I suffer people calling me an edgelord and whatever else people might say behind my back because Saint’s inspiration isn’t in what you see. It’s in what you don’t see. It’s what you have to stop and think and read between the lines to get.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: His endurance, despite the fact that some people would argue it shouldn’t be a quality we admire in people because we shouldn’t have to endure. But personally, I don’t think life will ever be all unicorn farts and rainbows; darkness has to come with light. So endurance is one of those things I think everyone should be brave enough to have, and if you don’t have it yourself, I think you should be brave enough to seek it from friends, or family, or loved ones.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING: Reading. I feel like people can tell when I’ve finished reading a book because my style alters slightly and there’s a sudden influx of writing on the blog lmao

FAVOURITE TYPES OF THREADS: I…can’t really say I have one? It’s hard enough for me to pick a favorite drink or color or piece of clothing so like… I dunno. I just like to write interesting and varied dynamics. I feel like I’ve been using that word a lot lately but it’s true. I don’t care what we’re doing, so long as it’s interesting in it’s own right. I have a thread that is just two characters texting each other back and forth, for fucks sake, and honestly? It’s fun as hell and I’m extremely excited to see where it takes the characters so XD I dunno man, favorite type of thread? The interesting kind.
