i’ve been seeing a lot of half-filipino iwaizumi posts lately and honestly i’m so in love with the thought of it i made a headcanon for my filipino boi damn i’m in this half-filipino iwaizumi shit 4 life
so basically filipino!iwaizumi is born to a japanese father and a filipino mother
he was born and raised in japan and his family take frequent trips to the philippines
when he gets to visit the ph his lola would always kiss his cheeks and be like “ang laki laki na ng apo ko!!” *kiss*
whenever his friends back home would ask what’s his fav food he’s like “i really like adobo and sinigang” and they’re like ??????oh yea thats some filipino food right there
jollibee would always be on his list when he’s visiting the philippines he can’t leave when he doesn’t get to taste chickenjoy
hot milo and silog meals = his favorite breakfast combo
sometimes he wishes he could take his friends in the ph one day and the first thing he would let them try is the balut
iwaizumi doesn’t speak tagalog that much and isn’t fluent but he can understand because sometimes his mother would talk to him in tagalog
filipino bad words: yes he knows them
one time kindaichi stepped on his foot accidentally and he was like “OW!! t*ngina mo!!”

idk if its a filipino thing but iwaizumi does that 😗 face when he points at things

iwaizumi probably listens to opm and has a playlist for it
when he was a child he’s like that one filipino kid who wears sando and has a damp lampin on his back playing with his japanese friends outside
when he visited philippines during christmas time twas a huge mystery to iwaizumi
mainly because he’s surprised that he has so many relatives like damn i got 92837 titos and titas and he gotta ‘bless’ to each one of them coz his mom told him to
but it’s fun coz he gets to sing in the karaoke with his drunk uncles that call him ‘pogi’ and istg id be lying if i said iwaizumi hates it
he loves filipino gatherings... coz he gets to eat lumpia for the nth time
iwaizumi is the guy who always says po and opo even if he speaks to his younger relatives in the ph
iwaizumi has little filipino expressions when he gets annoyed and blurts them out unexpectedly
“hay nako” when he’s annoyed over something and sighs
“bahala ka sa buhay mo” when oikawa says i love you to him
you can take the boy out of the philippines but you can’t take the philippines out of the boy
