Shorehaven is an island-based RP set on a small island off the coast of Maine. It features, amongst other things: coffee shops, restaurants, bar and grill houses, a club, it has its own radio station that residents can tune into. 

Shorehaven is an R-rated RP, meaning that you have unlimited creativity with character plots. For example we have had characters deal with alcohol/drug addiction, sex is common between characters and drama is always welcome. 

There are a numerous amount of players with almost 60 characters on the island. The mods do not tell you who to make. You can choose your own celebrity to use and as long as the character is approved by the mod, you’re good to go. Examples of celebrities used include: Misha Collins, Joey Richter, Rachel McAdams, Matt Cohen, James Franco, John Gallagher and many more.

You have total freedom over your character creation. You can create a character of any age, usually teenager-middle age are used here. Adults are more common on Shorehaven but all are welcome.

Occupation: Private Eye/Detective plus whatever he has to take for a case.

Personality: Rafe is manipulative and sneaky. What’s worse is he’s good at it. He doesn’t have much feeling for anyone and has the opinion that if he wants something he’ll take it. He’s determined and will do whatever it takes to finish a case even better if it’s a challenge. He loves living under cover and slipping in and out of different lives.

Brief History*: Rafe doesn’t let anyone really know about his history and stays tight lipped with details. He actually grew up in a fairly normal lifestyle in New York until his mother passed away then it spiraled downward. His Father started drinking, eventually doing drugs and when it got too much Rafe took off. He slowly learned his knack for twisting people around and slipping under their radar. Over time he became a Private Investigator and became notorious in the higher class as someone who would take any job. He gotten to the point where he mostly works with crime lords, gangs or mobs. The pay is amazingly good and they’re all about privacy. Rafe has built himself up a small fortune but still takes cases as often as he can.

Personality: Idina is very self sufficient, while her Dad and her take care of each other he always made sure she knew how to take care of herself so she is fairly independent. Idina is pretty damn clever and is very good at assessing situations and reading people. She’s fairly realistic and her head isn’t in the cloud. She prefers to deal in facts and has a tendency to over analyze things and try and figure people out.  She enjoys planning things out and isn’t a fan when things don’t go the way she thinks she will because she’s used to being able to predict them. She likes to keep things in order so she takes lots of notes. She enjoys having lots of different knowledge so she reads quite a bit and goes through lots of how tos and trivia. Brief History*: Idina was born to Gavin and Kiara when they were fairly young in Ireland. Her mother disappeared when she was 13. Idina knows what her Dad does for a living but after she first found out it became simply ‘Business’. If she was ever asked what her Dad did she simply said he was a business man and that was all she would say. Her and Gavin are very close and have a very trusting relationship. He’s made sure she is very self sufficient so she has random skills that most people wouldn’t expect her to have.

Personality: Avery is an opposite to Jared in many ways. Besides the fact that they’re both rebellious. She’s definitely louder and speaks her mind. Always been one to go against authority and the norm in most ways. She’s a free spirit. Little bit of a punk, or at least that’s how her parents described her. At her core she’s actually very creative and caring but she grew up defending all the things she did so she can be a little argumentative. 

Brief History*: Avery grew up in New York with a fairly rich family that came from old money. She met Jared at one of the school events and they became really good friends over time more like brother and sister really. She hatched a plan that they would get all their stuff set for college and actually take off to Canada where she knew a few people from a vacation she took. The two of them have been inseparable for a long time.

Personality: Jared is kinda quiet and could be accused of spending to much time in his own head. He can appear fairly serious unless he knows you well. He also tends to rely more on actions than words most of the time. He still has a sense of humor but he has a really good poker face most of the time. Jared can be a bit intense but he can be sweet too. If he knows the person pretty well he can be more talkative but by default he is kinda quiet.

Very observant and can read people pretty well. 

Brief History*: Lived in New York with his family a fair portion of his life. He came from old money and they planned for him to end up a lawyer and put him through the same school most of them had been through. Jared hated it pretty much from the get go but got through school because it made more sense than taking off. Once he got through and his parents set him up he left with Avery and ran off to Canada and stayed there for a few years. They had to leave after awhile and decided to come to Shorehaven where Fin lived since he was one of Jared’s closest relatives.

She likes a good mystery to something and enjoy trying to figure it out. A little bit bossy.

Brief History*: November grew up in New Orleans with her family. She worked doing accounting for the bar for sometime even though she was too young to do so. Personality: Nicky has the problem of taking himself too seriously. He does have a sense of humor that normally lands on the dark or sarcastic side of things. He does like clever humor or when something is so out of left field it catches him off guard. He spends most of his time with a nose in a book or playing the cello. He does go out but it’s normally to go and read somewhere else or see some people play music.

He’s had a few girlfriends but normally end up being able to figure them out so he stops finding them interesting. If people fit into a type they normally end up boring him and he won’t spend much time on figuring them out any more than that. Personality: Zoe is a tough girl and very independent. Can be someone volatile and has a feisty attitude. She’s very determined when she needs to be. She’s always been a tom boy. She’s a bit of a smart ass and liked to give people a hard time. She considers her friends her family and will be fiercely loyal and protective of them when she needs to be but would have no problem kicking their ass when they need it. Despite her rough attitude she can be very caring with some people. 

Brief History*: Zoe and Maki’s fathers met when they were in the Marines and while Maki’s Dad left, Zoe’s Dad stayed in so she stayed with them for several years. She trained with Maki and her Dad for the bounty hunting. Her Mom was still alive but had no real interest in her life and her and Maki bonded over that. She went into the military for a couple years but got an injury with her left leg so now she walks with a bit of a limp in her left leg. 

When she got out she took up bounty hunting with Maki and her Dad for a short time before Maki’s Dad moved to Shorehaven. When Maki moved Zoe stayed behind and took some jobs for herself. When an emergency came up with one of Maki’s old friends she regretfully showed up to tell her and promised to keep an eye on her Dad.

Lucas’ life was fairly normal for awhile but then Jonas ran off and left his Mom and he when he found something better. He was around sixteen when that happened. When he got out of high school he started looking for relatives and family. His mother wasn’t very fond of the idea but he felt like there was something missing. 

Eventually he found out about Alex and Fraze and worked up the money to move with just what he had. It was a spontaneous decision and he doesn’t have any idea what he’ll do after that.

Occupation: Night club owner.

Personality: Party animal, promiscuous, spontaneous and fairly arrogant. At first glance it probably appears that he doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Sometimes that’s very true but family and close friends are important to him. Frazier is all about having a good time and tries to keep up that persona and personality. He’s actually not as shallow as the playboy he appears to be.

Current Romantic Status: Single

Brief History: Frazier was born in Ireland and lived there till he was about fifteen. He lived with both parents until then and had a fairly normal life. The year he turned fifteen his Dad left he and his Mom alone. This was promptly followed by Divorce papers. Six months later the two of them moved to America and he hasn’t seen his Dad since. After a few years his Mother remarried a wealthy man. Frazier never got along with his Stepfather but he quickly grew accustomed to that lifestyle and has had a taste for the finer things in life since then.

He’s Alex McDonnall’s cousin and they have a very love/hate relationship with each other. They’d kept in touch on and off since Alex had moved but Frazier hadn’t seen him since. Frazier also has a past relationship with Claire Barnes, they slept together but never actually dated. Claire wanted more but he was not the type to settle for one person. Alex has no idea it happened.

About a year before we moved to Shorehaven his Mom and Stepfather were in a car accident. They both died and to his surprise was left with a hefty amount of money. He decided to move to Shorehaven where he had still had family. Frazier researched the place and found out that an older building was empty. One he thought would be perfect for a night club. He spontaneously decided that he would buy the place and turn it into his personal Heaven in Shorehaven.

Brief History: Grew up in New Orleans with a pretty big family. He was in the middle age wise and had a fairly normal childhood and keeps in touch with his family. He worked at a bar down there for awhile but eventually his family had to sell it off. There were lots of fights about it but in the end they had to for money for his Dad’s hospital bills. His Dad got very sick and passed on a short time later. When that happened he decided he needed to get out of New Orleans and away from his family for awhile because they were always fighting and he had been trying to keep them together.

His parents moved to the main land off of the island because they wanted a change of scenery. He stayed behind and they put him up in a fairly nice apartment before they left. His main focus has always been music but he dabbles in other creative endeavors too.

Occupation: Unemployed

Personality: Kyler’s always been the outcast of the Keoaloha clan even though he has a similar personality to Ryker. He always tried to match his big brothers in everything they did, but always fell short. It started to affect his personality. His self confidence wavered and he started to try to do whatever he could to fit in with everyone around him. He’s very sarcastic at times and intelligent most of the time. He feels overshadowed by his brothers and sisters so when they’re around he’s not really himself. He’s got a big heart that he tries not to let show for fear that people are going to compare him and he’d come up short. When it comes to relationships, he puts everything he has into them but they always end up failing because he second guesses himself and makes mistakes. 

Brief History*: Kyler grew up around Ryker and Gwen and their other sibling. He tried to surf with Ryker but found that he wasn’t good at it. His cooking skills lacked so from a young age he felt like an outcast from his family. So naturally, he tried to find acceptance in other crowds. He fell in with the wrong people quickly and by the time he was 18 he was addicted to Meth. On his 19th birthday he got a wake-up call. He collapsed at his own party, coughing up blood. He was rushed to the hospital where they found a small tumor on his right lung. It was removed immediately and recommended that he no longer smoke or do any kind of drug. And he did. He didn’t want to die before he got a chance to live so he started college and got his associates degree to become an x-ray technician when he was 21. He still fights his addiction daily and attends NA meetings weekly. He’s going to visit his big brother for a few months while taking some classes at a local university trying to get his Bachelor’s degree. 

He’s only had one real, adult relationship in his life. It ended badly and he doesn’t like to talk about it.

Personality: Sabrina is a headstrong, independent woman who lives life by what she wants. One word to describe her would be conniving. She loves messing with people and screwing up lives mainly because she thinks people hold their true selves back and she tells herself she brings that out in people. She’s also a sex addict who enjoys both sexes and isn’t shy about any aspect of her life. She’s very professional though when it comes to her work.

Brief History: Sabrina was born and raised in Portland, Maine to Sam Barnes’ younger brother, Wilson and his wife, Roxanne. She has an older brother and a younger sister. She made her way through high school mainly keeping her head down and just wanting to get out. As soon as she did, she took off to New York and starting working the club scene. She got a job with a leading publicity company and became a prominent assistant to a major club owner. For fun, she found that she loved sex. She loved using sex to fuck up people’s lives. In her five years in NYC, she broke up three marriages and got a reputation for it. She’d got word of Fraze McDonnall opening a club on a small island and whispers of his legacy had spread through the club circuit. So Sabrina decided to pack up and move to the small island where the club was. She knew she had cousins there but that wasn’t her focus. NYC was becoming too small of a playground for her, what could be more fun than fucking up a small community surrounded by water?

Personality: Trev has two personas. The image he portrays to the public is one partially drawn up by his publicist and partially based on his actual personality. He’s an All-American type boy to the public who is charming, humorous when needed, and just has yet to find that special lady. His actual personality is a little different. Trev has a very big, kind heart that not a lot of people know about. He has a great sense of humor and doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s well aware of how ridiculous his job is at times, but takes it in stride because he loves the work. He can be aggressive and is quietly known for sleeping with anything that moves when he’s single. He’s also a serial monogamist and was engaged once. 

Brief History*: Trev was born and raised in New Orleans. He grew up with the Porter clan because his dad and Emmett’s dad were cousins. He has three younger sisters and an older brother, but from a young age he was always the center of attention. He dove head first into theater in high school then when he graduated he took off for Los Angeles with dreams of stardom. He took a few acting classes and dropped his accent, changed his name in order to become more diverse for the audiences.

He got his big break on a soap opera which he worked on for five years until he started getting film roles. He fell in love with film and his career steady rose, mostly going unnoticed, until he hit 30. He starred in a little drama titled ‘Lighthouse’ which earned him a Golden Globe nomination and some say he got snubbed for an Oscar one as well, but after that he was thrust in the spotlight. The roles he got became bigger and his personal life slowly got put under a microscope. 

He was dating a fellow actor for about a year before she was caught in her trailer with another guy. Someone snapped pictures and he became headline news. He decided to take some time off and go visit his family that were currently located in Shorehaven, Maine.

Personality: Stella is a definite tomboy. She’s very sarcastic and can’t stand most girls. She tends to speak her mind quite often and has never been one for dramatics. Except when it comes to her being a daredevil. She gets nervous around guys that are extremely good looking or guys that she gets crushes on. Guys fall into two categories her friends and then the untouchables or the ones that are too pretty to be touched. She’s had a few boyfriends but mainly she prefers to have fun with the guys because most of the time they don’t see her as anything but a friend.

Brief History: Stella was born and raised in Hearst, California right on the ocean. Her dad is a semi-famous horror author and her mom is a new age hippie. She has a younger sister, Cherry, and a younger brother, Edmund. She had a happy childhood and loved living in sunny California. She had a small group of mostly guy friends and played Volleyball. She had a few boyfriends, but nothing serious and remains a virgin. Not by choice, just waiting for the right person.
