Last night was our guitar player Kyle's final show with us. It was a very sad occassion for sure. We love him to death and still plan on being best buds with him. The split from the band was all his decision. We have loved spending the last 6 1/2 years with him. Here's to wishing Kyle the best! We will be on the search for a new guitar player to replace him. Love you, baby!

New Full Length Album Coming Spring 2012!
Hey guys- So, as you may or may not know, we are hard at work on a full length album tentatively titled "Slacker Hymns". We are very excited about this. We are about 2/3 done with the writing process and are looking to head into the studio in November or early December. We can't wait for you guys to hear this! We plan on keeping most of the songs a secret until the album is released to really surprise you. We have so many ideas for this bad boy. Hope you all are as excited as we are! -SFT
Last Night Kicked Ass
Last night kicked a ton of ass. We love playing with Mustard Plug. They are super cool dudes and always put on a hell of a show. For some odd reason the first two bands bailed. I don't get how you bail on a show with Mustard Plug. We've bailed on a show once, and it was for good reason. And we alerted them of our impending bail like a week beforehand. Whatevs. So we ended up playing for an hour. We apparently had people there that knew of us and sang our songs. Cool. I love seeing that. Mustard Plug then came on and absolutely owned. As usual. God, I love those guys. They were my first ska band back when I was 13 (1999?). Yeesh. Love them. Then we had a chat sesh with them. All was well. They seemed to genuinely like us, and, even better, they thought we were hilarious. Success! Cool. Anywho. The van broke down last night. Lame. Other than that, last night kicked ass. Boom.
This Thursday! The House in Dekalb, IL! Mustard Plug and SFT reunite for yet another show! 7pm! $10 Advance / $12 Door! ALL AGES!
Our trombone player, Maddi, launched The Windy City Ska Connection yesterday to assist ska fans and ska bands from the Chicago area to communicate in one place. It's in it's early stages, but the plan is to promote ska shows, ska bands, and ska news from the great city of Chicago. Check it out!

Weekending
Dudes. Great weekend thus far.
#1, We celebrated the memory of a great friend and a part of the SFT family on Friday. We miss him more than you could know. Friday marked 1 year without him.
#2, Two new songs are in the bank. Don't want to toot our own horn, but god damn do they kick ass.
#3, We cleaned the fuck out the practice space. I don't think it's ever had the floors washed or vacuumed. Miracles do happen.
#4, The Velour Fog (our trusty van) is fully functioning. All is right with the world.
Hope you Tumblr folks are enjoying this weekend as much as we have. Success to the max, bros. Chick-yeah.

The Chicago Mixtape is a great project that promotes local Chicago music and local shows. Each week a "mixtape" is sent out to subscriber emails that includes music and information regarding upcoming Chicago music events. This is a fabulous site and project that everyone should really check out.
You Know What's Funny?
When people think you take yourself seriously. Sure, we love writing music and playing shows. Yes, we'd love to be able to please everyone. Is that always possible? Hell no. We take what we do seriously, but we don't take ourselves seriously. That kind of comes with being a ska band. We wrote a joke song about a negative review that we found funny and, obviously, negative. So, reviewer, thanks for mentioning us. You spoke your mind. We replied with a joke song about you. Boom.
