Yes, we all like to make jokes about how Zhong Hui has no friends, but you see this here? This hawk is his friend. He first met it as a young boy, injured by an arrow impaling its wing. With the assistance of his brother, Hui nursed the creature back to health, and he kept it company until it was ready to soar the skies once more. Even though they’ve part their ways, they occasionally meet one another in passing, and their respect for one another remains strong even after all those years. Shiji would not talk about the raptor, nor call it by name or claim it to be his, as it was free.
