Shostakovich time again!
Oh my gosh...
me: i know im hot but do you know who is hotter? dmitri shostakovich
the A&E team treating my heat stroke: you are currently experiencing delirium, i just need you to calm down and hold still ok
me: 15 symphonie AND string quar tet ,
currently thinking about when i got so obsessed with the tomodachi life: living the dream demo that i got the full game on the day of its release and my shostakovich mii fell in love with my myself mii after 10 whole entire minutes of me opening the game
You… you’ll never guess what I drew…
Whoever pencilled in the bar numbers in for the third movement of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4 in the pocket score I got from the library, I love you. You've just saved me from wasting so… much… time… trying to find the number for that cool oboe bit…

IT'S SHOSTAKOVICH'S 100TH MUSICAL BIRTHDAY
HAPPY 100TH ANNIVERSARY TO THE PREMIERE OF SYMPHONY NO. 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely incredible that we get to be here to celebrate a very important date, and a very important anniversary. He celebrated this day ever since it happened, and that day has now become a century ago. It's so crazy to think that everything we know and love all started today, 100 years ago. And he was only slightly younger than I am right now. It's just so cool. 100 years of his entire musical career. Today. And I'm so glad it happened. Who knew that this premiere would indirectly end up saving so many lives since? Idk maybe I'm just being sappy about it but I'm seriously so so so so happy that he existed and that this happened. I appreciate his music to no end, and I will continue to do so for all my life.
It inspires me to want to write my own symphony someday. Maybe there will come a time where it will be 100 years from when that gets premiered? Will I still be remembered in 100 years time? Will people find in my music the desire to live strong in the face of adversity, 100 years from now? Even if not, I still want to try. If I can make even a hundredth of the positive impact on others with my music that he's had on the world with his, I'll fight like Hell to see every tomorrow this world has to offer me, because his music has given me the drive to feel this hope once more. Whatever happens, I will do so anyway.
GO LISTEN TO SYMPHONY NO. 1 NOW NOW NOW NOWWWWWWW
This has got to be one of the funniest things that has ever happened since getting this game. I still can't believe it
There are days where it's just me and Дмитрий Шостакович народный артист СССР первый секретарь Союза композиторов РСФСР просто секретарь Союза композиторов СССР а также очень много других весьма ответственных нагрузок и должностей against the world and today it's one of those days
Usually the music that plays in my dreams are completely made up by the dream itself, with the sole exception of when a Shostakovich piece plays, where I wake up knowing the exact piece and movement that played. I hear them quite vividly, too. Today I even woke up from a dream knowing the exact recording the piece was from. It was a specific Beethoven Quartet recording of String Quartet No. 15, Mvt 1. Considering the dream mostly took place in a highly advanced hospital, I find that ominous and I am slightly terrified
I. FUCKING. HATE. THE. SCIENTIFIC. AND. CULTURAL. CONFERENCE. FOR. WORLD. PEACE.
RANT
The american men at the conference make me do the formalism denunciation and shout go soviet boy go
Fav Shostakovich romances/art songs????
Currently, I'm a really big fan of his Six Romances op. 62 and From Jewish Folk Poetry, op. 79. I have a soft spot for Macpherson's Farewell and Lullaby from each respectively (coincidentally both the third movements??)
Thank you so much for asking!! Sorry for not getting around to answering this for so long!
BREAKING NEWS: SOVIET COMPOSER OFFICIALLY COMES OUT AS BISEXUAL
The Soviet composer Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich stated today earlier this morning that he is bisexual.
“Like yeah I have a wife… but holy shit Tikhon Khrennikov is SOOO HOT 😩😩🤤🤤🤤” The composer tweeted. His wife, Nina Varzar Shostakovich, released a statement shortly after. “Yeah, Mitya’s kinda like that. He likes guys and so do I so we just watch heated rivalry together,” The physicist replied in a press release.
His close personal friend, polymath Ivan Sollertinsky, decided to make their relationship public the afternoon of. Ivan posted on Правда Социальный a photo posted of the two in a romantic kiss at sunset captioned “We’re tired of pretending we don’t have any feelings for each other. We decided today we’re done with that.”
While the reception of the news online was generally positive, there were some that did not agree. Isaak Glikman, another close friend of Shostakovich, replied to Sollertinsky’s post on Правда Социальный saying “FUCKK THAT SHOULDVE BEEN ME KISSING MITYA 😭😭😢”. Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Soviet Union, posted this video soon after Sollertinsky’s post:
Music Hour...
I know this is a blog dedicated to my beloved asteroid (2669 Shostakovich), but may I spare a moment of everyone's time to share my favourite excerpt of what I think is the most beautiful piece in all of classical music? 😍😍😍
It is time to play volleyball… I made a Shostakovich thist tarp edit… 😳😛
An Introduction to Shostakovich!
Welcome to my blog, where I post many interesting and fun facts, theories and observations about Shostakovich!
Shostakovich is the coolest thing in the universe. While not something we can find on Earth today, Shostakovich continues to amaze our souls; every new discovery about Shostakovich feels like striking gold. And Buddy, this is about to be your (my?????) Midas Touch. I have spent many a year researching Shostakovich, as well as the Soviet history, and there is a LOT to say about this Fascinating phenomenon.
As we Shostakovich fans say in the Yurisphere: Poyekhali!!!
