[Investigation: (Library) Aisha > Tetsuya >Â Wakaki]
Aisha braced herself against the wall outside Tadashiâs room with one hand and held her stomach with the other, breathing hard. Someone was dead. Someone had taken Monokumaâs baitâŚand now the stakes had been upped even further. If the killer wasnât exposed, the rest of them - and their loved ones, most likely - would pay the price. And even if there was a chance that Tadashiâs murderer might feel guilty enough to confess, the fact that their life was on the line too made it all the more unlikely.
But she didnât know the first thing about solving murders; she was willing to bet that any investigation sheâd seen on TV or in movies was as fake as any bomb-defusing sheâd seen on TV or in movies. The obvious place to start was in Tadashiâs room or - she winced slightly at the thought - with his bodyâŚso she wasnât all that disheartened to see that some of her classmates had already split into groups and were covering those areas. She spied another trio heading off in the direction of the cafe, as well. What did that leave?
Aisha straightened up and touched her chin as she thought. Even before theyâd known that getting caught would get them executed, the murderer would want there to be as little chance of getting caught as possible. Would Monokuma allow a killer to destroy evidence? Probably not; this was all about tormenting them as much as possible. Which meant that what they needed to find would probably be hidden as far away from the scene of the crime as possible.
With that in mind, she checked her map, nodded to herself, and headed off towards the library. If anyone was following her, she didnât notice right away.
Tetsuya did not want to be anywhere near the body. After witnessing one of his classmates die in front of him he did not want to see another dead body. He had circled outside in the hall for a bit, his bag clutched against his chest before watching groups disperse to go look for evidence. Thatâs right⌠that had to investigate or risk losing all of their lives⌠Noticing someone walking off by themselves he decided to take a change and follow her.
âU-Um, hey.â he began quietly, walking a few steps behind her. âUm⌠do you mind if I investigate with you?â he asked, slinging his bag over his shoulder to free up his hands. âI bet two people could probably find more than one⌠right?â he gave a small shrug and a forced smile.Â
âUm⌠Iâm Tetsuya by the way⌠Itâs unfortunate that we had to meet like this⌠Though we have met beforeâ I think⌠Although, I donât think we were like, formally introduced or anythingâŚâ he trailed off, realizing that he was just rambling at this point.
Wakaki closed his eyes and pursed his lips upon witnessing the gruesome scene before him, the knuckles on his clasped hands turning a ghostly white. Though he held a sliver of unwanted anticipation that someone would succumb to the paranoia planted by the bear, he never thought that a murder would actually transpire so swiftly. There was no conceivable way to circumvent the now proven fact that there was a weak-minded individual among their ranks as he feared. Heaving a sigh of disapproval and subdued anguish, the designerâs eyes darted around the room. Among all the people gathered around the hapless corpse that was once Tadashi Takuyo, one of them was the blackened and it was their duty to discern and indict whoever it was. The game of survival was truly underway.
The designer was more furious that someone allowed themselves to be manipulated than terrified of the notion that one, or possibly even more, of his peers was willing to kill. They could have merged their efforts and ideas to formulate an efficient answer to their predicament. Wakaki excused himself from the room and proceeded to briskly walk towards the one place he knew held a vast amount of information. The Monokuma file did not supply them with the exact cause of death and just by glancing over the idolâs body, Wakaki knew that his demise could have been brought about by an internal complication. He wasnât too well-versed in the field of medicine but certainly a place that carried books of the subject matter might help shed light on the reddish hue that permeated the departedâs skin.Â
Arriving at the library by himself, he decided to wait for other people who might have had the same idea as he did. He leaned back against the wall, arms crossed and head tilted downwards, surveying the hallway where he just came from. Mere minutes passed before he could see faint silhouettes of two figures, both of which unrecognizable to him. He took off at a light jog towards the two and finally became able to fully see who they were. He felt a little crestfallen after sizing them up but supposed that the pair was decent enough. The young woman gave off an aura of being sharp and worldly and the lad was⌠well, Wakaki deemed him to be someone that he could potentially give commands to without hearing any complaints in return. He had that poor, innocent fledgling vibe about him.Â
âGreetings. My name is Wakaki Mishina. To spare myself of the bother of further explication, I hereby declare the three of us to be the overseers of the libraryâs general area. There truly is truly strength in numbers after all, is there not?â
Aisha turned around and gave the first of her volunteering partners a nervous half-smile.
âYanai-san, right? Iâve heard your stuff before - itâs pretty good. And yeah, I know what you meanâŚbut itâs not like we can do anything about it now, huh.â Then again, she supposed it was a good thing that she was getting to meet him at all; sheâd never been able to introduce herself to Tadashi, much less ask him for an autograph or anything.
âHuh? Oh, you mean from when we were in front of the schoolâŚâ She didnât want to think about the video again, but Tetsuya had just pointed out something odd. âHonestly, I was beginning to think that was some kind of editing trick, since I didnât remember that either. Maybe it happened right before Monokuma got us with the gas or whatever, and thatâs why?â
Before she could get back around to accepting his offer, another student had approached. A very chic-looking, wordy student. âWell, I wouldnât mind some help, and everyone else seems to be making teams of three. Mishina-san, this is Tetsuya Yanai, and Iâm Aisha Hino. Since theâŚwell, scene of the crime is pretty much covered, I thought checking one of the farther-away places might be a good idea. Though I havenât been in the library beforeâŚhope itâs not too big.â
When they arrived, though, it looked like there was much less searching to be done than Aisha had initially thought. She zeroed in on the pile of clutter and began picking through it.
âUm... itâs nice to meet both of you.â Tetsuya nervously smiled, running a hand through his hair. Well, at least he was part of a team now... Three heads could totally find something. Whatever it was they were looking for... evidence... where could they find evidence?
He decided to head to the fireplace, kneeling down beside it as he looked through it. Surely something might be hidden here if anything was going to be hidden at all, right? At least... heâd think to try and burn something in a fireplace. Maybe there murderer was.
He frowned as he picked through the area, still in shock that they were looking for a murderer. This was just crazy...
