We’re retiring!
Yes, that’s right. We are indeed quitting the project of H.M.S (DES)Espoir.Â
The mods have had such a long time dwelling on this idea and after some time, we’ve decided that it’s time to pack up and thank for us.
But you didn’t even get to the first trial!
That is indeed true, but this group was more than just the game and trial. We had a lovely time with the people we had gathered in the Skype OOC chat and to be honest, we’ve never felt so welcomed and happy. We’re so incredibly proud, happy and grateful.
But why are you retiring?
We have plenty of reasons as to why, but we’d rather not dwell on them. After all, we want to make this as less painful as possible!
Long story short,
we love the people we had and we all have made plenty of new friends I’m sure and we really wish we could continue, but responsibilities craves sacrifices.
We will keep up the Skype chat if people are interested to still converse. We will also keep this blog and HMS confession blog as an archive and memory.Â
Furthermore, the mods had a little present prepared after the first trial, but since we didn’t get there, here it is! It’s the Mononeko generator.
Don’t forget to listen to Noah’s (Mod Togami) music he made for H.M.S Desespoir! Here it is! It will also be available on the blog itself.
We also would like to apologize for the mun of Dangero who was really looking forward to the game. We hope you keep in touch with us nonetheless!Â

Little Traveler | VALENTINO | Prologue/Open
Nikki has visited almost all areas they saw on their ‘tour’ and now thought it was time to rest. Although, not in their room. Why wouldn’t they want a fresh breeze for once? They’re on the cruise, it’s the occasion for going on the deck as often as possible.
As they looked around again, they heard a voice. A singing voice, to be precise. Nikki turned to the source and saw the boy who is the source of the humming. True enough, it has calmed them from their excitement of being on the cruise. And they could not say it’s a bad thing, in fact it was a really nice humming.
The astrologer approached the boy, smiling. They tapped softly on his shoulder to get his attention.
"Hello, I do think that you have a really beautiful voice. It was wonderful to hear you singing. May I ask what’s your name, by the way?"
Valentino was surprised to find someone seeking for his attention, and after deeming that looking at someone's chest was impolite he looked up to view their face. He tilted his head, readjusting his scarf some bit, before he smiled softly to them.
"...Thank you... I'm Valentino...... Valentino Takamitsu...... Pleasure to meet you..."
"......May I know... your name as well...? Hearing your talent... would be interesting as well... .......I myself... am a Gondolier..."

 "Ah? It’s fine! Would you mind if I refer you as Valentino, or Vale only? I’m not too used to honorifics, I apologize… But if you wish so, I’ll try to think of using these! Again, I’m sorry, I need to improve more on Japanese."
Well for staying in Japan for a while, it’s odd that the astrologer didn’t use honorifics often, and their memory was a bit rusty.
"I look forward to chat more with you, Vale! I am sure the cruise will be fun!"
"......I accept nicknames... They make me feel... like the person feels... comfortable with me......"
"......I just... was raised to use... 'Ms.' or 'Mr.'... Or Japanese honourifics... Towards people ... don't really know...... ...So I'm unfortunately... unable to get rid of it......"

Eri yawned a little before listening to the wind blow a little against the side of the boat and she listened to him again.
"Y-Yea.. the a-air does smell r-rather n-nice.. a-and the sounds o-of the water c-crashing a-against the b-boat is r-rather p-peaceful as well.."
Eri smiled gently, the gondolier seemed really kind.. and she was hoping to get to speak to him more at some point..
"...Gondoliers... just row gondolas in Venice... ...Gondolas are these... long boats... that go on the waterways... that have replaced normal roads... ......People travel by boat or foot..."
"......I guess... you could call us a kind of... Venetian taxi...... Though... my boss mostly... focuses on tourism....."

 Haruye was finally starting to realize how slow this guy was. At first, the carpenter thought she’d said something wrong, but it just seemed like every time this guy talked he had to take a break between words. The cigarette she had from earlier was just a butt at this point. Still, Haruye was pretty surprised to see someone with that kind of talent on this boat.
"Well, can’t say I ever met anyone like you! Must be a little odd being on a big boat like this, ain’t it? Gosh, though, I’d love to see a city like that…" With that, Haruye slid just a little closer to the gondolier.
Vale noticed her inching closer, but paid no attention. Instead, he smiled softly and tilted his head a bit. Wasn't that a sweet smile.Â
"...It is a pretty town... Though the sea... is really pretty too...... ...Venice is a bit crowded... so such an open space...... is refreshing..."
...It was starting to seem like he was focusing mostly on the sea rather than her.Â

 "…. I see! Well I’ll sleep less stupid tonight! Yeah, glad to meet you as well!"
"Oh! I go by they, their and themself pronouns, since I’m agender! I’m glad you asked…!"
That was a close one.
He looked up at them, narrowing his eyes slightly. It was clear he was thinking very deeply, until he finally relaxed his face and nodded.Â
"...Nikki-san it is... ...Sorry... I wasn't sure... what honorific I should use..."
He bowed to them, genuinely apologetic. Well, wasn't he polite.Â

"Me? I’m from Greece, if that’s what you want to know…! It’s not very far from Italy, is it? I mean compared to like… France or so."
"............France... is a literal neighbour... ...Italy and France share a border......... ...And Venice is closer to France than Greece... ...But Italy and Greece are next to each-other... really close... although seperated by... the sea..."
"......Oh well... It is pleasant... that I could meet you regardless... ...Um..."
"......What... are your preferred... pronouns...?"
He was probably looking for whether to refer to them as 'Mr.' or 'Ms.'. What a dork.Â

Eri bowed in respect, and smiled at him once again. A gondolier, thats really interesting..i wonder if in the future i could ask him more about his talent..

Eri was glad she hadn’t bothered him, she had been trying her best to approach people, despite how some of them reacted to her.

He bowed slightly, a lazy but genuine gesture, and straightened soon after. Though he did know she probably couldn't see it, he felt it was natural regardless.Â
".........It... smells great, doesn't it...? ...And the air... is nice..."
Taking into notice the fact she couldn't see the view, he figured he'd focus on what she could sense. ...Hopefully, anyway.Â

Haruye wasn’t quite sure how to read Valentino’s expressions, especially with that scarf covering his face. The gondolier seemed curious about her at least, but the way he held himself shrouded him in mystery…
…and she liked that.
"…Haruye Tokunaga, SHSL Carpenter. Nice to meet you too, Takamitsu-san. So…what kind of stuff are you into?"
"......Water... fish, boats... food including fish..."
...Well, he was a surprisingly simple man. Though his list was interrupted by him suddenly opening his eyes, falling silent. It was clear he was thinking, though it apparently took him ages until he looked to her and opened his mouth again.Â
".........Oh, did you mean... what my talent is...? ...I'm a gondolier. I row... gondolas... in Venice..."
...To hell with 'mysterious', this guy was just slow.Â

 Eri heard someone humming a small tune and approached they person humming the sweet tune
"E-Excuse m-me..I-I hope you d-dont m-mind me b-bothering y-you..b-but that..t-tune is v-very l-lovely"
Eri smiled at them warmly, hoping they were friendly. If not she would have to try her best not to get upset over it.. She then bowed to them and greeted them
"I-Im E-Eri F-Fuyumi, SHSL S-Scholar..B-By the w-way.."
Eri smiled once again
Valentino turned to the source of the sound, tilting his head. Ah, she appeared... blind. Well, he'd just have to take that into account so he wouldn't say anything nasty accidentally.Â
"......Nice to meet you too... Miss Fuyumi... ...I'm Valentino Takamitsu... ...Super High-School Level... Gondolier..."
"...And don't worry... you didn't bother me... ......Thank you... for the compliment..."

 Haruye was out smoking on the other side of the boat, when across the deck she noticed the gondolier.
Oh man…He’s cute…
The carpenter’s palms started to get a little sweaty. Valentino was tall, handsome, and had great taste in neckwear; that was a seller. Putting her cigarette between her fingers, Haruye put a hand on her chest and made herself work up the nerve to talk to this guy. With a calm expression, she walked up to his side of the boat and leaned on the rail next to him.
"You out here by yourself, stranger?" she asked cheekily, holding her cigarette casually with one hand.
Valentino's humming stopped and he slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times before looking to his side. It didn't take long for the smell of smoke to reach his nose and he unconsciously readjusted his scarf.Â
In all honesty, he wasn't a big fan of smokers. He was used to it, of course, nor did he shun those who did it, but... He never found it cool or practical. Still, no use being rude to the lady. So he tilted his head, studying her a bit. He didn't look judging, more like... childishly curious.Â
"...I suppose...? I don't recall... Being with anyone else... right now......"
"......Though... I am technically not... alone anymore... correct...?"
His manner of speaking was calm and painfully slow-paced, and that coupled with his deep voice could make anyone fall asleep with how... calming his influence was. Or you could just call him boring and slow, whatever tickles your fancy. But his smile was really cute, that one had to admit.Â
"...Valentino... Takamitsu... ...Pleasure to meet you, Miss...?"
