di...me...something | Takeru | Trial 2-1 [RE: Hyun-Min, Harue, Miyako]
Investigations were always difficult to somebody who has never once investigated in their life, let alone investigate for a murder when there can be clear tampering of the evidence. Whether it would be on purpose or accidental, one could easily tamper with the evidence in various ways. One way would be to accidentally step on it, breaking it in the process. Another would be to purposely dispose of it, leaving no trace behind and possibly destroying the chances of them ever getting the perpetrator of this heinous crime their punishment.
Even though it meant that we would lose another life from the 19 here…
Well, what’s done is done. And Takeru hasn’t done much. He wasn’t used to asking questions. He was used to giving answers. Answers to trivial questions like: “What’s 34 x 80?” “Is this how you do it?” “What’s the meaning of life?" Wait, no, ignore that last question. But, one could get the point, easily.
The second time the wild feline stepped on the pad, he wasn’t anymore surprised with the outcome. He knew that the elevator doors would open and they would all get in and stop at the trial room. Just like some days ago. And it might turn into a regular event if whoever was in charge is not found and apprehended immediately. The sooner the better.
He let his feet drag him to his podium and cleared his throat. Loud enough to get some attention.
"Forgive me if this seemed a little late, but I was not able to introduce myself the last time. The name is Takeru Hoshinomiya, for those of you who are not familiar with my face and I have been appointed the title of Super High School Level Decoder. For those of you confused of what a ‘decoder’ is. It is simply that I work for the military to decode terrorist messages and the like. I do hope we’ll get along…"
His eyes trailed off from one person to another, before he breathed in…then out
”..Dimethylmercury. Easily one of the most powerful of neurotoxins it produces an extremely foul-smelling odor, which would be what Okudaira-san described when she sniffed at Fujibadashi-Tokiwa-san’s tea.”
He dug into his jeans and took out its contents, in which then he opened his palm and showed its contents for all to see.
"As you can see, I have not spent any of my monocoins as I have been busy with other things."
"Ikumi-san, would it be possible say that this is a suicide? I may not know Tokiwa-san personally, but I have heard of her name through my mother who used words like ‘plants’ and ‘flora’ to describe her, from that we could deduce that her title is somehow connected to plants. Would it be possible that she actually spiked her own tea?"
"It might sound odd, but we must take in all the possibilities."
