i think it’s already established that q!shubbles theme to her character is fairytales…but just to be clear

she started stream as little read riding hood, you know with the outfit she was wearing irl and all.

when she first logged in, she spawned in a broken down tower which was really in the middle of nowhere where. sound familiar? rapunzel anyone?

as she went exploring, she found a hut with a bear living in it. immediately she started ransacking the place. taking furniture, food, and even sleeping in the bed. similar to what goldie locks does (some might even argue that her skin looks similar to her)

once she found the portal, the hallway had many tasks for her. she baked a cake like hansel and gretal! you could also connect it to many other fairy tales that are similar.

in the next room, she ate a seeming poisoned apple like snow white did.

and in the final room, she welcomed a long slumber and slept like sleeping beauty!!

another headcanon already

q!aimseys tunnel was so dark and thin, and was the total opposite of reassuring and comfortable. she had to leave behind her dogs and her house to make her way to purgatory. she was in the nether, surrounded by FIRE and dangerous things.

where q!shubbles tunnel was so bright and wide. it was constantly reassuring her and telling her to calm down. even the apple which is the poisoned apple from snow white, was HEALING her hearts. it was comforting, and kinda nice.

those are two sides of the same story. two sides of a fairytale like what the brothers grimm wrote. they’re depicted to be so nice and lovely (like q!shelby’s) but in reality have a far more ‘grim’ meaning to them (q!aimsey)

i see q!shelby as like- a raven queen character from ever after high.

someone who’s just looking for a place to call home. a place where she can have her own happily ever after. a place where she can live her own fairy tale fantasies

someone who’d do ANYTHING to get their happily ever after, someone who’d go so far as to joining a purge. thinking maybe, her answer would be waiting if she won.

she didnt expect having to kill innocent people in a purgatory as a way to find her storybook legacy, yet here she is!

This should be enough calcite to please Wilbur...

Shelby places her last torch by the opening of the closed-off amethyst geode. She was lucky to find one directly underneath her house.

She double checks her surroundings, then her items, making sure no mobs are spawning and that she has the calcite she needs to finish her house.

She remembers Wilbur telling her as they were ending their tour of the server: stick with the colour palette. Gladly, she thinks, having walked around the server with buildings of spruce and stone. There's coherence, a theme agreed upon by the other people through all the structures she has seen, and she wants to keep this up.

So when Wilbur rated her house below average, explicitly asking for the calcite, she knew she had to throw it in her build somewhere.

Holding a torch in her left hand and picking up her stone pickaxe in the right, she turns to ghost mode. She's still not used to seeing her already translucent body turn invisible, allowing her to phase through everything except for bedrock and obsidian.

She makes her way to the surface.

She feels before sees the light as she sets foot on her house's floor. The rays tickle her skin through her yellow sweater. They're coming from the East.

It's early morning..., she thought, placing her pickaxe and calcite in a chest.

Grabbing some baked potatoes from the furnace and quickly munching on them, Shelby goes invisible once more. This time, though, she places a pumpkin on the top of her head and phases through the walls to her roof.

She's been brainstorming ideas about how she'll incorporate the calcite as she was mining a while ago. For some reason, her mind screams at her to take inspiration from mushrooms, making her take a cottagecore spin on her build. It was a good idea, the mushrooms, she'll give herself credit.

A part of her wonders why she's so inclined to have mushrooms related to her builds, but she shakes that off.

She decides to add a window in the front side of her house, probably adding the calcite around the glass. She'll also add a potted plant. Somehow. She doesn't know yet.

She hears a quiet hiss followed by a shit, sounding like it's coming from the lake behind her house.

She phases through the roof and ceiling, grabbing hold of one of her chest handles to prevent her from phasing lower. Pulling herself up, she walks through her door to have a quick glance of her surroundings.

No one around me, so that means...

She phases through the floor, deciding to walk through the dirt and stone, making her way to a red and white umbrella at the bottom.

She sticks her head through the wall to see another of her kind, taller and lankier with a similar yellow sweater. He was under the umbrella, pinching his right thumb, continuing to hiss swears under his breath. He’s not invisible, Shelby mentally notes. A fishing rod laid on the grass under his feet. There was also an oak chair and a bucket of salmon under the shaded space. He was facing away from her.

Shelby looks at her friend, "Did you accidentally show your thumb in the sun, somehow?"

Said friend jumps and turns his head towards her, "Jesus Christ, Shelby Shubble... You just scared the crap out of me -"

"Answer the question, Wilbur."

Wilbur straightens up and fully turns in her direction, "No, I did not stick my thumb out in the sun. If I did, then my whole thumb should be on fire right now."

"Then what happened?" Shelby asks, tilting her head slightly.

"I cut myself from my fishing rod hook. Pufferfish scare the heck out of you as well," he replies, showing the small tear through the skin of his thumb.

Shelby gasps softly, "Are you alright?"

"Yes yes, I am. Just hoping that Niki would somehow wrangle all the pufferfish out of the lake and put them in a spot that wouldn't potentially scare or poison others."

"Aww," Shelby says, walking out of the wall towards the edge of the water. "Poor pufferfish..."

Wilbur scoffs. "Evil is sometimes necessary."

"That's a horrible way to put it."

"That's a realistic way to put it," Wilbur tells her with a pointing finger. The floating pumpkin worn by his friend lowers to the water, and he holds back a laugh.

Out of all the items Shelby could have on her to make her visible, she chooses a pumpkin. Wilbur finds it impractical, (it's not gonna protect you from anything), silly, (genuinely, that pumpkin's his only indicator that she's with him)...

... And endearing.

(He won't say it out loud, but honestly, it makes sense that it's Shelby to do it.)

The floating pumpkin makes him smile.

Said floating pumpkin jerks away from the water and gives a sharp yelp. He catches a glimpse of yellow spikes puffed in a ball from the water as his friend turns visible in front of him and fall backwards to the grass.

He sees her burn.

"Shelby!" he cries, turning invisible and pulling her under the umbrella.

"I'm still burning! I'm still burning!" Shelby shouts, turning herself invisible once more.

In panic, Wilbur pushes her into the lake.

I mean… he thinks, how else do you stop a ghost from being on fire?

Shelby lands with a splash, the crisp sound of fire being doused filling the air. Wilbur sees the pumpkin get knocked off her body. It dips down the water following her, then floats upwards. Wilbur's frozen at his spot, hands covering his mouth as he turns visible again.

"Shelby?.." he calls out to the blue. Surely, he hasn't pushed her so hard that she fell in the deep end, right?

"Shelby Shubble?" he calls again. "Shelby, c - can you hear me?"

He feels a pair of hands push him, his body burning for a split second before he meets the icy water.

He turns to his umbrella, seeing no one, but hearing a signature giggle from that direction. She probably phased through the ground to appear behind him.

"Ms. Shelby Shubble..." he starts a serious voice.

Shelby appears in front of him, still laughing. If it was someone else, Wilbur probably would've been offended. However, it's Shelby, and they've been around each other enough to know when they're truly serious from when they're joking. It doesn't take long before Wilbur starts laughing himself, shaking his head.

He looks up at Shelby as she squeezes her hair, shoulders still shaking slightly from laughter.

"You deserved that," she teases as she lends a hand to Wilbur.

"Wh - Shelby!" comes the equally teasing reply, "I only pushed you in there because you were on fire!"

"I would've lived anyways!"

"You were burning!"

"I can't swim!" Shelby exclaims, throwing her arms out.

Wilbur snorts. "You're lying.."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Wilbur, I genuinely can't swim."

The taller turns his head towards the shorter, muted shock on his face, "Like... you actually can't swim?.."

"I can't swim," Shelby nods, "and I can't grab my pumpkin back."

Both of them look out in the lake, seeing the pumpkin continue to float to the central island.

Shelby tugs Wilbur's sweater sleeve, looking at him with a serious, slightly pleading expression. "Please tell me you can swim and you'll grab it back for me."

"No."

"Wilbur!"

A sigh, "Fine."

He starts walking to the water before he turns around to see Shelby picking up his fishing rod and placing it on his chair.

"You're gonna have to learn how to swim at some point, y'know?" he calls.

"No one could teach me," Shelby replies, tone flat.

Wilbur turns back to the lake, wading his way through the water. His toes aren't touching the ground as he grabs the carved pumpkin.

He swims back to shore, silently handing it back to his friend.

"Thank you..." she whispers, shaking it off to get rid of the excess water.

The silence between them is slightly awkward, but peaceful. Both phantoms were visible. One of them is trying to figure out how to help his friend, while the other just wants to shove the pumpkin on her head and go back to building her house. None of them dare to break the tension in the air as ripples from the lake move in succession.

The water is still when the silence was broken.

"I can."

Shelby looks up from squeezing her sleeves, "What?"

"I can," Wilbur says. "... Teach you, I mean."

"Teach me what?"

"How to swim."

Shelby's eyes light up. Wilbur notices, but he doesn't comment on it.

"W - well," he stutters, mentally slapping himself, "Niki would do a better job in teaching you, her being a merling and all that... But if you want to, I can help you."

Shelby watches as Wilbur scratches behind his neck in embarrassment. He looks at her, waiting for her response.

"That would be really cool!" Shelby replies with a grin.

The two smile at each other, the silence now more comfortable as an unsaid agreement falls.

"Ms. Shelby Shubble," Wilbur says, patting a hand on his friend's shoulder, "you are learning how to swim."

So I recently found out that AO3 is censoring people saying "From the river to sea, Palestine will be free," and I don't tolerate that. Yes they don't get money from the views on the site but still, it's icky to me.

I'll be posting my fics here on Tumblr from now on, and that includes resposting the ones currently published on the site.

Also, I miss this duo a lot !! Shubble and Wilbur are two of my favorite CCs, and I'd love to see them in the same SMP/project again someday :')

OKAY OAKY SO. (apologies for seeing this sooo late.)

katherine, princess and heir to the throne of auradon.

shelby shubble, a witch and villain banished to the isle of the lost.

as one of katherine’s first proclamations before she becomes queen, she decides to let a couple people from the isle of the lost to come to auradon to try and get rid of their evil thinking.

she, by luck, manages to pick shelby daughter of the greatest witch of all time.

her (shelby’s) mother makes it clear to her that her only task and concern there is to steal the fairy god mothers wand so she can free everyone on the isle.

shelby obviously agrees to this at the time.

she realizes the only way to get close to the wand, is to get close to katherine. and she comes up with a plan to make her fall in love using a potion.

she rigs some cookies she makes for katherine and feeds them to her, and it’s obvious that the spell is working.

as the days go by, shelby is realizing that her plan is backfiring. hard. she’s falling for katherine more and more as the days go by. and she’s starting to feel bad for putting the spell on her.

katherine, on the other hand, known about the spell and how it had wore off ages ago without shelby realizing it.

THATS BASICALLY THE PLOT.
