Gross. || One Shot Day 2
The smell of ammonia and the taste of salt made my half conscious mind dream of the sea. Not that Iâd ever been to the sea. Or near the sea. Or even smelled the sea air. Waking up was a different reality altogether as the two boys giggled as they let streams flow from them as they emptied their bladders over me. At least when people in the Capitol did that they paid for the privi-lege.
Before I could even grab the boys they disappeared into nothingness and the man infront of me was already hissing through his deformed lips, something about defacing school property. He emphasizes his words as he throws himself forwards with the photo of my artistry from the corridor. Of course, the mutts in this arena were human shaped, Iâd learned that from Aquariusâ new best friend. I turned to grab the door handle at almost the same time as the head of the mop collided with the wooden frame splattering whatever it was that it had absorbed across the woodwork and along the sleeve of the blazer that I was wearing. The fabric quickly began to evaporate into nothing where the liquid had come into contact and the shirt underneath was following suit, soon there were holes all over where the Janitor had attacked and I could feel the bite of the acid against my skin.
As the acid began to burrow into my flesh, the Janitor moved again a lot faster than Iâd expected of the older looking man, the photo of Adamâs body dropped to the floor as I crashed sideways into one of the stalls to dodge the oncoming attack, but that didnât stop the man whipping his acid laced mop backwards and catching me under my arm. I screamed aloud as the acid bit into my flesh as it instantly disolved the small amount of protection that the blazer and the shirt offered. I retaliated quickly, half in and out of the stall as I threw the mop away and took a swing at the man with one of the throwing knives. I was pleased as punch as the metal embedded into the skin above the mans shoulder but below his neck and blood began to pour through my fingers. I retched myself forwards across the room away from the man and I could feel the skin under my arm bubbling from elbow to armpit and down the side of my chest. I had to stay away from the mop and kill the man who pulled the blade from his neck and allowed himself to bleed like it was nothing.
Another pair of knives were in my hands as the man dropped the one from his body onto the floor where it rattled in the dark, the only sounds penetrating the room were the hissing of acid on every surface that it touched, my heavy breathing and the slow grunts of the injured man-mutt. I felt something running along the side of my torso and I hoped that the blisters had burst as quickly as theyâd formed, if I was bleeding out already then the acid was eating through my skin with no signs of stopping and I would be dead in minutes. Either way, if I died, I would die fighting. As the mop swung again in my direction, I huffed out a laboured breath as I jumped sideways to dodge and the pain in my injury intensified, the mop crashed alongside me, missing by inches and sending another spray of acid up around where it hit, the tiled floor melting away. I moved faster than I should have with the dangerous injury, bringing my foot down on the wooden handle of the Janitorâs weapon in a hopes of snapping it and rendering the mop a little less useful to my assailant, instead the whole thing clattered to the floor and the Janitor watched as it fell, his hands instinctively reaching down as he crouched over to retrieve his weapon.
A feral scream poured from my lips, a mix of rage, pain and bloodlust as my knife connected with the soft fleshy part of the Janitors neck. His body went limp and crashed on top of his own weapon, his face being swallowed up by the fibers of the mop and the acid hissing against his flesh. I stabbed again, this time in the mans neck possibly killing him, but that didnât stop me from grabbing a second knife from my belt and aiming another stab with my free hand. With a knife in each hand I rained down the blows as his face melted away, the soft skin of his scarred face disappearing until he was unrecognizable, eventually his skin gave way to bone, the mans features gone completely.Â
I simply watched as viscera began to spread across the floor, then pool around the toes of my shoes. Once I knew he was dead, I flipped him over and pulled away the mop as it stuck to the crater where his face once was. The top of the mans jumpsuit was damaged and stained but Iâd take damaged over smelly any day.
Stripping the mutt of itâs uniform I discarded my own, stripping one of the sleeves of the blazer to make two makeshift  rags that could be used to patch up a wound. My main worry was the burns on my side and my arms, I would need something for the injury, and hopefully I would find something soon, or at least be sent something from my sponsor.
The fight was over for now, I knew where I wanted to go next, and it was as far away from this school as possible.Â
Heading out into the hallway, I turn towards the door that weâd used to enter the building. Waiting to see if there was anyone else around.
