Violet Baudelaire PTSD - Headcanons
trust’s memo: i strongly believe that if asoue had a happier ending, violet still would have suffered from trauma because of the situation and developed ptsd. i am basing these headcanons off my experience with ptsd, and i am in no way trying to offend anyone with ptsd, nor am i trying to romanticize it.
trigger warning: mentions of post traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, and insomnia
-she still has nightmares about him sometimes. on the nights that she does, she turns all of the lights on and checks to make sure that every door, window, and access to the outside world, is shut.
-she developed insomnia over time. she didn’t want to deal with anymore nightmares so she just runs on coffee most days
-klaus and sunny eventually convince her to go to a doctor and she’s prescribed pills and a therapist
-it took her a long time to start going to the therapist
-she struggles a lot if she’s not around klaus or sunny. she’s convinced that if they’re not around her, they’re going to get hurt
-it takes her a lot of time before she starts seeing people or getting close to anyone. she even has the mailman leave packages outside because she doesn’t want him to get hurt because of her.
-can’t being herself to visit her parents’s grave. it just reminds her of what started everything in the first place.
-gets triggered really easily because of all of count olaf’s disguises.
-has a lot of locks on her door to prevent any unwanted guests from coming inside
-struggles with eating sometimes. she’d gotten so used to being fed horribly (i.e. sticks of gum, whatever it was that the academy had tried to serve them) that she doesn’t have a normal eating schedule anymore
-she creates inventions to try and distract her from everything going on inside her head
-el hopper, will byers, the losers club, and max mayfield are her support system whenever things get really hard to handle
-when she does get sleep, she sleeps in really stiff and tense positions
-some days are worse than others
