always remember that canonically in blood and wine they made the decision for regis to say that geralt “smell(s) quite tasty”
[GIF] Thanks to a fellow creature imagining the awkward walk up to Tesham Mutna. 😌
"His blood was draining away quickly. There was no time. The witcher cursed and bit her hard on the neck, just below the ear. He dug his teeth in and clenched them until her inhuman howling became a thin, despairing scream and then a choking sob—the cry of a hurt fourteen-year-old girl."

i love emiel regis because this character is an addict and victim of reckless suicide who, by the rules of fantasy, can come back and say “it wasn’t worth it”. an impossible situation which could only happen in this genre, where nothing is beyond the limits of possibility. it’s a beautiful use of a fantasy creature, to not tell a made-up story, but to tell the stories of real people who can’t.
then his story becomes not only about redemption, but about inward reflection and understanding of your own limitations in perspective and challenging yourself to. not only doing better, being better. because he then doesn’t just start doing good to make up for the people he hurt, he commits himself to deep interpersonal work to improve himself, to change his attitude and build empathy for others which he never had, recognizing that it wasn’t only external factors but internal flaws which thrust him into despair.
in media res, the story we find him in, his individual story as a side character is about finding friends who he devotes himself to and who wholly accept him for all that he is. that acceptance, which is all he ever wanted, pure and true love that is the final piece of his puzzle. where he is given a further chance to learn, change, and become a better person through the love and acceptance that he shares with them. extremely based and hopepilled
