This mid-to-late aughts hairdo (which I maintained until about 2012) is the literal reason I bought myself a GHD hair straightener which I still have to this day and still works, but I have not used since.
It was YouTubers, like these folks, through whom it even occurred to me having hair like that was possible. And when my high school hair was thick (about twice as thick as it is now), and I got it just right, I felt like a million bucks.
it must feel good as hell when you’re a horse and you take a big bite out of an apple like ttshoke
your command over onomatopoeia is unmatched bestie
rice is the perfect food and westerners should eat more of it i'm so serious
you can season it, you can drizzle it with sauce, you can cook it in broth or coconut milk, you can add spices sugar butter sesame oil rice vinegar, you can mix it w/ garlic & scallions & veggies, you can fry it and scramble an egg in it, it goes with meat & seafood & protein, it reheats great with a bit of water, it's cheap, insane shelf-life, ideal for bulk buy discounts, many types & shapes & textures, there are thousands of recipes ranging from china to india to japan to the middle east to latin america to europe. AND a rice cocker cooks it for you. the many splendors that await you...
you think i made an error most grievous, BUT i noticed that typo before hitting post; in my infinite wisdom i chose to let nature take its course
did you know that Rice is Jarvis Cocker's middle name
I have a hard time falling in love with people it's like "don't you want to be together forever" no I want to go home and be alone actually is there something wrong with me
just found out that stoats hunt twice the size of them like rabbits by aggressively and eccentrically dancing around it with their little slinky rigatoni bodies so it can confuse the absolute fuck out of its prey until it can get close enough to jump on its back like some shadow of the colossus shit and take it down
oh my god its called the weasel war dance and they just go off the shits apeshit little animals

“be stubborn about your goals but flexible about your methods.” the best advice I’ve ever received.
you ever have situations that make you want to take people by the shoulders and go "you are not 15 any longer. this behavior is no longer quirky and cute. it is exhausting for you and everyone else to act like a teenager you haven't been in a decade or longer. knock it the fuck off"
lots of ppl making this about adults who have interests they find cringe but let me be clear this is about emotional immaturity. idgaf if you're 35 and like goku okay but can you have an adult conversation without making yourself the victim is the matter at hand here

Cooper Koch | Behind The Blinds (2024)
“Radical diffusionism” is the idea that everything was invented by one culture, which then spread across the globe. This idea was very popular during the Victorian era, especially in Europe and the United States, all of whom were playing a game of “who can have the biggest globe-spanning empire.” The idea of Radical Diffusionism is, needless to say, very racist, but that is not how the Victorian era British Empire saw themselves. They were traveling to far off places, bringing culture, education, and technology to barbarous and underdeveloped lands and backwards peoples. A thought begins to emerge: What if this has happened before? What if, a long long time ago, there was an empire just like us who brought culture and technology to everyone on earth? Only to fall one day as all empires do.
Enter Atlantis! The ancient, enlightened civilization of philosopher kings who were swallowed by the waves! Plato wrote about them, so therefore they must be real. Atlantis was a quick and easy shorthand for “The ancient culture responsible for everything cool.” What was Atlantis like? Well, it depends on the writer. Atlantis has a curious way of resembling the exact political system a given writer supports. Atlantis is a vessel, a big jar labeled “the ideal civilization” which a writer could fill with whatever they liked.
Blavatsky filled Atlantis with two important things: Anticolonialism, and established understandings of European race science, read: She wanted to keep the concept of an Aristocracy, and Antisemitism.
