~ romantic academia during quarantine ~
Quarantine must be a really tough time for all of us - not only we worry about our physical health and the pandemic, but we should care about our mental health as well. That being said, here are some activities which give me Romantic Academia vibes โฅ
Read a lot of books! Whether itโs a classic that you adore, The Secret History or a modern fantasy book - it doesnโt matter as long as you enjoy reading it. You can even treat it as a portal to another world to take your mind off the current situation. Watching movies instead is great too!
Journal daily! Itโs a great way to stay in tune with your emotions. If you donโt have the energy to write but you donโt want to miss a day, you could even doodle something. You could simply write about your day, or scheme on how to meet with your secret lover (but remember to stay at home, just let your fantasy run wild!)
Write love poems! Itโs a great way to spend your time creatively. You could write one about your lover, or if you donโt have one - perhaps a love poem for your soulmate in your past life? If youโre struggling with your mental health - write a love poem to yourself. You deserve some love too, after all!
Spend some time on your hobby! Thereโs nothing better than killing time with something you love to do when youโre bored. That may be writing, drawing, or planting something in a garden - there are so many choices, so do what is unique to you.
In case of struggling with the situation - romanticize it. In a healthy way of course! Perhaps you could put yourself in a scenario when you are locked up in a castle, forbidden and unable to meet with your loved one. That would also be a great opportunity to write some letters.
Drink something nice! Make some tea for yourself. If you prefer coffee, you can go for it! Hot chocolate is amazing too. Whatever you like - remember to take care of yourself.
Practice some self care! Thatโs a really important one. Show some love to yourself in whatever ways you want to do so. Go on walks around your garden (Itโs spring after all! The world is so beautiful and we should all experience the joy of it!), take a hot bath, or curl yourself up in something warm and read your favourite book. You may be focused on your studies, but remember to take some time for yourself too.
Check up on your loved ones! Even if we all must stay at home, remember to spend some time with your friends or family online if you canโt meet up. Write to them and show them some love too! We all can make use of it during these times.
