when human grimm is menopausal age and is more than a little flustered that someone's twenty something daughter wants him BAD. he looks unaffected by hornet's desire but his temperature is rising 20 degrees every second she looks at him. she's waxing poetics in her mind about his wrinkles and grey hairs.

I wasn't seeing the appeal of Grimmnet at first. I would look at it and think "huh, that's a strange ship. I'm glad people find joy and make beautiful art of their strange ships, even if it isn't my cup of tea personally."

"my royal nemesis" au where everything is the same except it's bugs

hornet is daughter of hallownest and she experiences the canon plot largely the same, but at some point is betrayed and killed. dying, she closes her eyes only to miraculously open them again. the world around her has changed; she's still at the place of her death but now surrounded by strangers and even stranger devices pointed at her.

enter hornet thrown hundreds of years into the future into the body of a struggling actor. dazed and confused, she wanders off set and into the streets where she discovers the bug version of the 21st century. cars and skyscrapers and television and people who speak her tongue, but not exactly. she also just happens to run into a notorious executive when she runs out and faints before his car. when grimm gets out to help this strange and old relic from the past, he's also immediately smitten.

now hornet has to navigate no longer being of the era she's in, learning how history has recorded her past, struggling with the wounds left by her past, and like... figuring out a laundry machine and credit cards and how she's apparently an actor now? there's also the fact this major executive is entangling himself into her life but she can't bring herself to really accept his infatuation.

I think a lot about Grimm ideal life with Hornet where he has complete rule over her. I imagine he daydreams about waking her and dressing her for the morning in outfits he had made for each and every occasion or need. Preparing her meals and following by her side as they go to areas she liked to explore and see. I think these thoughts make him purr and get a little lost in thought. Meanwhile Hornet in the bottom sinner road ripping roach guys out with her bare hands cause she beast crest mode atm

yeah the unfortunate reality is that grimm wants to free his femme from her independent life and take care of every inconvenience possible, and hornet spends zero time considering that because she has Ten Million Things To Do. he lowkey wants to be her devoted housewife and he never gets his true housewife era.

a while ago my friends had this crazy argument over whether it would be easier to beat Hornet or Grimm in a fight. Taking everything into consideration (this was pre-silksong), even doing math to determine size compared to us and other crazy shit, we still have not come to a conclusion. please assist.

i don't think a normal person is winning against either of them so trying to guess who is easier to win against is like... well "do i have a better chance surviving a semi trailer barreling into me or a plane crashing into me". you are definitely dying regardless!

my very simple answer is that hornet brings her best to every fight even if her opponent isn't as skilled/mortal and is determined to be the winner. she is going to kick your ass or die trying. grimm has a lot of tricks up his sleeves/experience/outright power but i don't think he shares the same determination that hornet does. he could hypothetically lose a fight more easily due to not taking it as seriously or not putting his heart into it. hornet is going to kill you for real from the very second the fight starts.
