yeah! it's not like nightmare or grimm actually have, like, actual clothes on. their "cloaks" are just their wings unlike hornet who has no such biological covering aside from her shell.

"naked" as a concept seems to not exist for the bugs in the same way that we see it. no one makes a fuss when quirrel or vespa or grindle or shakra go out naked. even in silksong when hornet is stripped of her possessions, neither she nor others make much mention of her being bare. her cloak is just one of the material things stolen from her, not a cause for embarrassment regarding immodesty or vulnerability.

so yeah naked cuddling because hornet doesn't wear her dress 24/7 and the grimms aren't wearing clothing beyond their wings. the frequency is probably nothing noteworthy; sometimes it happens as she's letting her cloak dry, or perhaps it'd be too warm having that on plus her wife's natural heat, or maybe it's just the end of the day and she doesn't wear it to sleep. just as often, she's clothed for whatever reason.

A quick question about your Troupe AU!

You mentioned in a post about the AU that Hornet had lost some of her memories. Which ones were you referring to? Her recent memories? Or her older ones too—like those of her mothers? Can she still remember Grimm? Or does Hornet wake up without a single memory of Grimm and his troupe? It would surely come as a complete shock to her, too, to wake up at a stranger's place only to learn that she is now part of this troupe!

it's nowhere close to amnesia or anything similar. by and large most of her memories are intact as it's not the same relationship that nightmare forges with other members.

what memories are affected is likely the kind that would be classified under "life flashing before your eyes". they are simply the ones that are most likely to be collateral to the burning of the heart since they're what she's thinking of while nightmare works. whether that spreads towards older memories is really up in the air.

after all, the true answer is "she loses whatever memories i find most effective for the narrative's sake". i am endlessly fascinated by hornet not even remembering her mother's face but having so much love and respect for her still. in that way, it would be interesting for me if similar happened to others in her mind. she remembers them hazily, but the core emotions are the same beyond a new sense of longing. "i once remembered this one in clear detail, but now i can only faintly recall their silhouette." it's what real people face and hornet will have to face it over and over just as she ages, but now the natural process has been accelerated due to her binding.

so, she largely remembers her mothers. those memories might be more degraded than pre-binding and might lack details but they're still there. she remembers grimm. beyond the ones associated with her life flashing before her eyes, very recent memories she's lost as well. what this means is that nightmare is one such victim to this. however brief their interactions, it'd only be fitting if they're burned, too.

so not only does he ruin her life (and save it), but like half of her memories of them interacting are wiped. and it's not like the relationship wasn't mostly one-sided on his part in the first place.

thank youuuu. it's really less about being self indulgent and more about it being easier for people to understand these bugs are gay 😔 i feel really lonely as a lesbian online (i'm whining i know) and sometimes it really bothers me that they keep being read as either aunt/nephew (which i hate) or as an m/f couple (which i also hate).

i love a he/him lesbian irl bc masculinity is very fun and it's just one of the cooler ways for lesbians to interact with masculinity but does it even matter for bugs.... then again using she/her directly contradicts canon (even if my argument for grimm being a woman is totally flimsy). idk lol. probably does not make sense or matter! i probably won't change it just for consistency
