Lost || Cyan & Rose
playkinshara:
Rose raised an eyebrow at the arrancar’s prediction of just how he might find life in the desert. It was true, roughing it was far from his preferred method of travel but he was wise enough to know that needs must right now and it wasn’t as if he hadn’t been prepared for this through the academy. It wasn’t going to be pleasant but it was certain something he could put up with. Who knew, Rose thought, perhaps he would surpass her expectations.
“ I’ve had some training for situations like this,” he replied, thinking back on his days in the academy and how suitable it was for a situation like this one “ it might not agree with me but I can handle it”
The two of them made their way down the stone passageway, Rose following his companions’s instructions, not wanting to hit his head. It didn’t take long to reach where they’d spend the night, a small cave furnished with in stone. It wasn’t ideal and clear to him why this place would have been abandoned why something better came along but it would have to do.He watched the woman explain what this place was and nodded at her suggestion that they get comfortable for a few hours.
“Okay, rest first.”
Despite his bravado Rose knew the arrancar was speaking sense. During his short time in this realm, he had already come to realise that to travel through the while not fully alert and prepared for what might come was unwise at best, suicidal at worst. The stone bench was cold and far from comfortable, but Rose took a seat nevertheless and got used to the idea that this was where he would be sleeping.
“Could we build a fire” he suggested, aware of a chill in the air and the lack of blankets and other items to keep out the cold “We;re going to need some heat if we’re going to be here a while”
The tall serpent woman was stretched out across the bench she’d gone easily from sitting to laying. The whole place felt another life ago, a feeling she wished she wasn’t quite so familiar with...unfortunate. She stared up at the ceiling preparing for a silence, that did not come as she had hoped it would. She sat back up at the blonde’s request. She’d let him have his claims and assurances he would be well, that he had been trained. Yet moments later she found that shinigami had needs that their arrancar counterparts did not share...she could never once recall building a fire.
Not back then or even recently after their re-awakening from hollow to arrancar, she frowned for a moment furrowing her brow at the request looking around the environment and shaking her head.
“You’re welcome to try but, we don’t really have use for such things....I don’t know if we’d have any tinder or even fuel for a fire...if you have some on you go ahead. Though, I must note that since fires are completely unusual out here in Heucco Mundo it may draw attention to our location even inside like this.” she looked around for anything to offer the man but found herself with naught save the clothes on her back...and that would hardly help anything.
“I’m afraid we’re too climate adjusted to keep such things on hand you’d only find luxuries like blankets even in Las Noches, not out here...”
“Will you be unable to rest like this? That would be...problematic.”
