...where I’m being asked “Why so Billy-centric?”

These are some of the reasons I mention:

1) Tommy makes it even more Billy-centric, and Billy-centric in exactly same “magical new family” way as Children’s Crusade. I didn’t want to tell that story again. 2) Tommy didn’t want to give up superheroing. 3) Tommy hurts the team diversity more, which was already problematic. 4) I didn’t think Tommy would stay and wait around. 5) Tommy’s role in the original Young Avengers dynamic was to be the more prickly character in a team of absolute sweethearts (“The Team Sociopath” as Billy put it).

1) UM???? TOMMY SHEPHERD HAS HIS OWN STORY TO TELL?? Not everything has to be about Billy Kaplan but apparently Marvel nor you understand that? 2) Yes??? So why did he? Because it seems like it was written that he did give it up for some shithole job that was pushing mutants and depowered mutants to death. 3) ??? HE’S THE SON OF A JEWISH-ROMA WOMAN? AND THE GRANDSON OF JEWISH AND ROMA HOLCAUST SURVIVORS??? IS IT BECAUSE HE WASN’T GAY? OR BECAUSE HE NEVER SAID HE WAS BI ON PAGE? 4) ?????? Fair; but also: see rebuttal #2.
