How to find Freemasonry in Mumbai?

One is to get in touch with a freemason. If you know someone from the circle of freemasons, you can seek his help to join Freemasonry. He has the authority to propose your membership in his Lodge. All you need is to follow his instructions diligently for a smooth experience.

Once shortlisted, a representative will get in touch with you.

You will go through an interview with the representative, who will then refer your profile to the Lodges.

Once the Lodges have agreed to proceed with your candidature, you must fill out a registration form provided by the Lodge representative.

Attend the interview hosted by the Lodge committee.

The committee will hold a vote to give out the final word. If the voice is in your favor, you will have to make an initial payment.

Wait for the summons from the Lodge secretary for your initiation ceremony.

Once the confirmation is received, and the initiation ceremony is done, you are now a part of the Lodge and can call yourself a freemason.                                                                                                                                  If you are a student who is 18 years of age or above, you are eligible to apply to become a Freemason.

Lodge Light Of Asia No.7700EC was consecrated on 05/05/1960. The Freemasonry in Mumbai grew in strength year after year and had regular meetings without a break. Around 1974-75, they brought up a very non-Masonic problem that affected their Masonic lives, the name of the Lodge. There was a barbershop a stone’s throw away from the Lodge premises with the same name, and there were also a few Irani tea shops sporting the same name in the vicinity. The brethren of the Lodge, desiring a more positive spin on the Lodge name, decided to change its name to Lodge Silvery Dawn No.7700EC. The United Grand Lodge of England approved it, and the new name was adopted, much to the pleasure of its brethren, in its regular meeting held on 01/05/1975.
