the De'ar brothers

The poisoner, the first son, trading secrets and living a double life in the streets of Eastmyr. The lost brother, the magic prodigy, hidden in the tunnels of the Underdark clinging to memories of a past life. The druid, unwanted third son, serving a mysterious god of mushrooms and spores.

The bards of Last Light Inn

1492, Hammer. The future seemed grim with that sea of shifting shadows right outside the inn and Moonrise Towers looming on the horizon. Still, against all odds, they had arrived at this point together. That was reason enough to celebrate.

I finally finished a painting I started planning back in April of last year: a scene of my boyfriend's lore bard / Great Old One warlock, named Visurgis. Special guests are Alfira and my resist Dark Urge, Rubedo.

A little bit of character background to explain the side panel: Visurgis is a lore bard and guild artisan. He builds musical instruments and works with the Sharptongue Traveling Troupe (the bardic troupe you can read about in the handbill near the ogres in the Blighted Village), whose logo (that I designed) he wears on his thigh. He is a follower of Ohgma and Milil and has their holy symbols on trinkets attached to his robe. He has a passion for finding ancient artifacts and tomes and frequently passes the time by studying the history of the Realms. In one of such occasions, he discovered the existence of the Far-Realm Infested Stars and has been studying them ever since; while also, unknowingly to the eldritch entities themselves, getting new powers from them. The things emanating from his flute are a reference to that, in the form of tentacles, and to the origin of his name in the form of the rats, as the name Visurgis comes from the fairytale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin (a city on the river Weser, or Visurgis in Latin).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: he has a moustache with four curls.

The references I used are, from left to right:

"The lute player" by Orazio Gentileschi (which is an interesting coincidence because I used a painting by his daughter Artemisia as a reference for the other big BG3 painting I made last year).

The background, the wooden table and the magic from the flute are done with traditional watercolor, while all the rest is painted digitally.
