Ugh, hangovers are the worst. But hey, that’s life, and everything comes with a consequence. That’s great, that you and your mom have a good relationship, though. I haven’t even got a text from mines, not that she cares.

’Tis true, unfortunately; I haven’t had one in a while, but you never really forget the feeling. It’s nothing to write home about, if I’m being real with you. We have our ups and downs like any two other people, but we manage. 

You're not the first person to tell me that, and it’s kind of awful considering your mum is supposed to be the one person you can go to. If you want to talk about it, just let me know.

Today was the first day my mom and I have had a solid, tear-free conversation since I left a few weeks ago. That was on her end, of course; I successfully disguised my hangover-induced headache, so I guess we both accomplished something.
