SIM-Only deals are a great way to save money. You get to keep your existing mobile - be it Android, iPhone or a classic Nokia. But you get to improve upon your current tariff - often getting more inclusive minutes, texts and data.

It used to be simple in the UK. O2 had exclusive rights over Apple's iPhone and so there was no confusion - if you wanted that particular mobile phone then you had to sign up with O2. On top of that the only options available to begin with were pay as you go - which was helluva expensive - or to take out a substantial (18+ month) contract with O2.
How times have changed. With exclusivity out of the window every network and their dog is touting the iPhone 4S. You can get it SIM-free, on PAYG, on a number of different contracts going up to 24 month contracts or, if you're feeling cheaper, second hand. As of this moment the networks I know to support the iPhone are:

There are also a number of smaller networks, which often piggyback on the larger networks backs, such as GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile.
So, with the advent of all these new providers selling the iPhone how are you to choose which network is best for you?
Often it is down to the combined deal of handset cost, contract length and monthly price. This can get complicated all to easily, so what I'm going to focus on is SIM-only iPhone deals. We're going to work on the presumption that you already have your phone and you're looking for the best deal.
A number of comparison websites for SIM-only offers have cropped up as of late so without further ado I shall post my recommendations, in order of preference:
uSwitch - a well known brand and nice interface help you find a decent SIM-Only plan.
SIM-Only iPhone - a rather specialist, niche website that only caters for SIM-Only iPhone deals without focusing on other things such as utility bills and mortgage comparisons.
Moneysupermarket - another well-known player that will help you find the deal best suited to you.
