We dream and imagine things in a perfect world. But sometimes the reality of our lives is not perfect.

I learned so much from this trip about myself but also about the people I was most close to. I’ve realized how important communication is to keep a relationship or friendship strong and I have seen how our mobile devices can be a huge problem in this communication. Words can get twisted, things can be misunderstood, and it can end relationships that you thought were going to last.

We get to choose the people we want in our lives. And I’m standing firm in choosing people who are positive, open minded, and forgiving. I’ve realized to only invest my time in people who care about me too. Sometimes this can be a hard to pill to swallow, but I know for my future happiness, this is key to moving forward.

Life is too short to hang out with people that make you feel anything less than jubilant. Be brave enough to let go of those who keep weighing you down.

When aren’t going as planned it is crucial to keep a light and positive attitude. And to embrace the present fully. I encourage you to just stop what you’re doing, what you’re thinking, and look around. Look at this amazing world you are blessed to be living in. God has created the Earth, clothed in endless beauty. And we need to appreciate those little moments of peace, because let’s be honest, those are the memories we hold on to and cherish forever.

Celebrating and embracing the holdiay spirit is especially important when there are little ones in your life. Christmas time almost seems magicial when you're little. I love letting my inner kid out, and creating fun memories during the holiday season.

Toadstool Geological Park // 10.4.18

Just this past week I lost a loved one. And even though I only knew her during the last two years of her life, I loved her oh so dearly. Watching her suffer the past couple of months was extremely difficult for me. Coming back from being absent the entire summer and seeing her drastic decline in those short months was a slap in the face, like getting the wind knocked out of me. I couldn’t believe it. She wasn’t immortal. She wasn’t always going to be there, like I always told myself she would be. Complete and utter shock, a reality that I did not want to come to terms with. We wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, why does it hurt so bad, but I know that feeling this pain and grief for her only shows the unconditional and endless love I felt towards her. It hurts this much because we had a connection, and she has impacted me in ways she’ll never know. The weird thing about grieving is that life goes on. When we’re faced with a devastating loss and we have no idea how we can live through it, somehow the world keeps turning, the time keeps passing by. The pain will never go away, we just learn to deal with it. We try to find comfort in reminiscing the good times, and the happy moments we had together. I will never forget you. Rest in peace, my little spit fire.

If I've learned anything from life, it's that sometimes, the darkest times can bring us to the brightest places. I've learned that the most toxic people can teach us the most important lessons; that our most painful struggles can grant us the most necessary growth; and that the most heartbreaking losses of friendship and love can make room for the most wonderful people. I've learned that what seems like a curse in the moment can actually be a blessing, and that what seems like the end of the road is actually just the discovery that we are meant to travel down a different path. I've learned that no matter how difficult things seem, there's always hope. And i've learned that no matter how powerless we feel or how horrible things seem, we can't give up. We have to keep going. Even when it's scary, even when all of our strength seems gone, we have to keep picking ourselves back up and moving forward, because whatever we're battling in the moment, it will pass, and we will make it through. 1. always say yes to adventures

2. going out of your comfort zone isn’t so scary.
