I love seeing babies protected from hot objects, it makes me understand how Allah protects me. Babies will always reach for the cup of tea and cry when they’re not allowed to put their hands in it. The adults know it’s dangerous but the baby doesn’t think like that. Sometimes we want something and we don’t get it and we’ll cry, but Allah is knowing of the consequences and He is protecting me by keeping me away from it.

And then you have the mothers who let the baby touch the cup so the child can understand it’s painful and they shouldn’t reach for it again. Maybe Allah makes us go through painful moments just to show us that what we thought we wanted is only going to bring us pain and we’re better off without it (perfectly applies to relationships with wastemen). Maybe it’s to show us that our lives, without His guidance, is painful.

Babies are stupid and impulsive but we love them so much. Humans are stupid and impulsive and Allah loves us more than 70 mothers could love a child.

What is the sole purpose with which we have been created with?

Our purpose is to serve Allāh. We are His servants. His ‘ibaad. We have One Lord, One Rabb, One Creator. We have been created to serve One. Yet we are quick to forget Him. We get so caught up with our lives that it results in us forgetting Him. We fail to fulfill His rights. We have a busy day ahead and as salaah time approaches, we quickly squeeze it in. We forget that Allāh is waiting. As soon as the call for prayer has been made, Allāh awaits your arrival. So that you may stand before Him and converse with Him. But because we are in such a hurry, we try to finish as soon as we can, taking little notice of the words that we splutter. It’s all about do and go. Not stop and reflect. This is how weak we are in our service to our One Lord, Ahad! However our Majestic Lord never forgets us. He takes care of all of our affairs. He listens to all of us when we call. He responds to each and every one of our needs. He gives and forgives. We disobey Him and run back to Him and He accepts us. He doesn’t turn us away. No. Because He is Gracious and Kind. He is Forgiving and Merciful. He has billions of servants. Not only do I mean the humans, but the animals and plants too. All that He has created worships Him. And He sustains them. Our worship may in fact be weaker than their’s. Little do we reflect. If Allāh loves you this much, does He not deserve the best of your service? Allāh loves you, so love Him. Your heart may seek many things, but let it be that He is the main One that your heart seeks. Welcome His love in to your heart and embrace it, for that is the only love which won’t break you. That love won’t tear you apart.And Allāh knows it. He is with you, wherever you are, so don’t for a second think that He has abandoned you. He does not need you, yet He loves you. Why do we love? We love because we need.You can change this. Let it be such that you need Him, because you love Him. Purify your love for Him everyday. He will be with you. Always.

I have these two neighbours and they’re married and they gotta be like in their late 30s and I’m making dinner and I look out the window and they’re running around outside in their pajamas and bare feet with water pistols soaking eachother and laughing so loud it made me realise I’m wasting so much time trying to make relationships perfect when all that’s really needed is someone who will laugh with me for the rest of my life
