I was so unbelievably excited to kickstart my year of reading with Madam Vice Presidents memoir just as she's weeks away from being sworn into one of the most powerful positions in the world -- full of so much hope and promise. Unfortunately the book did not deliver; it read like a campaign speech that listed her accomplishments in a not-so-modest way. The book wasn't all bad tho --- I really appreciated the early parts where we got a glimpse of what her childhood was like with her Indian mother and all the community organizing she was surrounded by. I LOVEDDD all of that. And the chapter where she meets Doug and how their first couple of weeks unfolded... swoon! I love a good love story :)

Overall the book was underwhelming, but she has won me over in a number of other ways that I won't hold this one against her ;)

Day 13: Sunday Feels.

Day 12: One of the best Saturdays in the longest time. No agenda. No to-do list. Just going with the flow. Enjoying the good weather and spending time with my baby boo 💖

Day 11: grateful for spring weather. I finally get to take my daughter outdoors to play in the park (& field) and wind down before bed.

Day 9: Im grateful for the opportunity to do community work. My career life is not what I expected it to be at 32. But I do know that Ive always been a community worker and i always will be. Its my happy place.

Day 8: Today I was tested with Victimitis Excusitis. I failed and then I won and then I failed again. Its hard changing your pattern, especially when you arent in the best headspace. But you keep going. Thats exactly what I did today and will continue to do. Today I am grateful for my resilience and my not-giving-up attitude.
