Not saying Follow my lead!
The choice i made to be a teen mom was my own. When i talk about my life i want it to be about both my good and bad experiences. Please if your reading my story, don't think that I'm encouraging teen pregnancy or that I'm saying something like it's easy, if you have help and family. NO! It was not easy and it wasn't the smartest choice but it happened and that's the life 'I' chose.
Teen Mom pt 1: School
I became a teen mom at the age of 16. Junior in High School. Boyfriend and we did not get married. He was one grade ahead. I went to school fulltime like any other student and graduated with my class. When i was in school, my son would be at a daycare center ran by a family friend who was basically my aunt. Breastfeeding was not a problem. I pumped the nights before and in the morning while i got ready for school (after his feeding) so he'd still have my milk instead of formula while i wasn't with him. During school hours pumping was a little harder... because i produced so much. If i didnt pump every few hours I'd leak through my shirt and that was with those breastfeefeeding leak pads in! The one cool thing was my teachers were very helpful and would let my use the restroom whenever i needed to so i could go pump and theyd help me store my breastmilk away. Noone ever knew that it was even in the same room haha
My point.
For awhile now i've been wanting to write and share my experiences as a single parent. Like the struggles i've gone through, the thing's i've learned and the stuff i love about being a young single parent, but i want it to also help anyone who might feel like they are alone in some parenting experiences; so they know that they really aren't. So this will be my place to vent about my struggles, share my experiences, expose what ive learned or changed. At the same time though this page will also be for people to ask me questions or just silently relate and feel a bit more relaxed that they aren't the only parents going through similar situations.
