Mentioning the Secret History is enough to make me wanna forever bind souls with someone

Camilla not being liked by other women, namely Judy and Marion, makes me so sad. All members of the Greek class are out of step with the general population in some way, but I dont think any of them experience that isolation as acutely as Camilla does. Even within her little group she is the odd one out, in turns abused, adored, hated, desired, and treated as an object.
I don't think she was ever very popular with other girls. I can see young Camilla, strange, solitary Camilla, being left out at school, treated with contempt and suspicion by her peers. I can see her spending hours wondering whats wrong with her, why it's so hard for her to make friends. I think this contributed heavily towards her inappropriate relationship with Charles, already codependent due to their shared childhood trauma. I think her inability to relate to other women made her retreat into their bond further, which in turn made her seem even more bizarre to outsiders.
Charles, who is certainly not without his share of problems, does not have the same effect on other men. He is described by Richard as charming and generally well liked, and I think part of that is because his possessiveness of his sister is more or less expected. The men around her, who either consciously or subconsciously see women as objects, don’t find it strange that Charles treats Camilla as his.
This is not to say that Camilla is some kind of innocent victim whose sad backstory excuses her actions, she certainly is not that. But I do think that she shares Richard's desperate need for belonging, and her relationship with the men of the Greek class is a sort of extension of her relationship with Charles, a shield from a world that has shunned her.

Richard Papen is truly god's strongest soldier because imagine being in love with every single member of your friend group and then learning said friends regularly host hedonistic rituals in which they all sleep together and to which you alone are not invited
cardan greenbriar who has been so mischaracterized lately.
cardan greenbriar who is not "a yassified boy who would make grwm tiktoks and vlogs."
cardan greenbriar who was neglected by his mother and family.
cardan who thought the only way he'd be validated by his father was to act out and be cruel.
cardan greenbriar who was nursed by a cat because his own mother was too busy at parties to be bothered to nurse her own son.
cardan greenbriar whose mother was sent away and he was sent to live with his older brother who abused him.
cardan greenbriar who canonically (i believe) developed stockholm's
cardan greenbriar who hated himself just as much as he hated jude.
cardan greenbriar who thought he was unlovable because— who would ever love someone as cruel as himself?
cardan greenbriar who said: "i used to pretend i was playing hide and seek, and that no one ever found me because i had chosen such clever spots to hide. of course, no one ever looked, anyway."
yes, he is clever and sarcastic, but i'm so tired of people saying "he's a twink," "omg he's so submissive and breedable." did we read the same series?
I'm patiently waiting for The Odyssey fics to start rolling in
watched The Odyssey (2026) and i have to admit, in an otherwise very serious scene, i was fucking cackling when the gates of Troy opened and Agamemnon was just fucking stood there aurafarming like Darth Vader

Weird headcannon I have for Azriel is that I fully believe that if he made some contact with his mate the first time that mating bond snaps into place and she was a fae from another court, he'd automatically kidnap her without thinking. If not that, he's definitely talking himself out of kidnapping her and just stalking her using his spies instead.
I don't know guys. Azriel doesn't seem like he'd be calm and super chill about meeting his mate for the first time.
what if you grew up in gilead and loved your parents and they loved you and your father was the bravest person you ever met but then one day you realize the system he supports and gives his life for is corrupt and evil and so you betray him and everything he did for you to join the rebels and then your father is poisoned by those very rebels but you’re okay with it, you have to be okay with it because it’s all in support of a revolution which you believe in with every fiber of your being and things must be done for that revolution that you don’t agree with, and so you’re fine with it and you continue working for the people who poisoned your dad because you believe in the revolution and you have to win, but you still love him and act as his caregiver and continue to describe him as the bravest man you know unprompted, happened to my good friend garth chapin
I'm kinda rooting for Garth and Agnes, not gonna lie.
