A Vulcan who got sent back in time and stuck in the late 20th to early 21st century (like, 1980s-2010s) and because first contact had not been made at this point, they amputate the tips of their ears to look more human

Bonus: they have to do it themselves, alongside anything else medical, because they don’t want to freak anyone out with their “weird” physiology
