Acer AC700 Chromebook (Wi-Fi)
Are you ready for the cloud?
Google thinks you are! Acer and Samsung released the first laptops based on Google's Chrome operating system in the United States. Instead of installed software, the Chromebooks use browser-based apps which store files and data online. This technology introduces a new way of computing. It's completely browser based eliminating the need for drives. Users' apps, documents, settings and other data are stored in with Google and accessible from any Chrome computer with an internet connection. The Chromebook is easy to set up. You only need your Google log in and your up and running in seconds. Many applications, such as Skype, are not yet available for the relatively new Chrome operating system. Other apps are generally very limited in functionality as of now.
The timing might be too early for some people. I know I am not ready but willing to try it out.
