our cat got FeLV virus in Poland. here’s what happened next
Some would judge me for even considering this treatment, but cat is also a part of a family. You see, three years ago, we adopted a young cat that had been abandoned by neighbours. We named him Kolya. He was loving, curious & quickly became part of the family.
In early 2024, Kolya was diagnosed with FeLV (feline leukemia virus, or białaczka kotów in Polish). It's a disease often seen as a death sentence — especially in Poland, where many vets still view it as untreatable. But we refused to give up.
We started treatment immediately, including RetroMAD1 — a promising antiviral medication known from other countries but still new in Poland. We then found this Polish site which provides detailed info and a way to order. 💉

Leczenie FeLV, FIP, FIV – jak wygląda? What was it, actually?
Our cat also showed symptoms related to FIP and possible FIV. We combined therapies: mostly RetroMAD1, some Virbagen Omega, Felimm, and others — over a whole 90-day period. We learned to give injections, tracked blood results, and stayed in touch with oncologists and specialists.
After the second week, Kolya's anemia began to reverse. His energy returned. By the end of the third month:

No need for steroids anymore
Returned appetite, playfulness, balcony naps ☀️

💡 What next?
Unfortunately, gingivitis appeared — a known side effect of FeLV. We’re now on soft food and immune support. There’s a good chance we’ll need to repeat therapy in 3–6 months and we’re raising funds for critical supplements.
