First thing’s first Miriam will ALWAYS be a 4*TOWN stan. Those are her boys and she worked damn hard to see their concert back in middle school. If it wasn’t for her amazing group of friends that shared the same obsessive love for the band she wouldn’t be who she is today! 4*TOWN is a part of her and always will be.
Her childhood was pretty quiet up until her parents divorce. She was almost in middle school when it happened. After all that business was done she opted to live with her dad because her mom wasn’t the most nurturing person. Their relationship was always strained and she still talks to her and keeps contact but not much. Sometimes she feels bad because that’s still her mom but her dad has always been there for her more than her mom was.
She’s a total goofball. Miriam is the one always cracking jokes and earned the superlative in high school of ‘class clown.’ It often got her in trouble, being sent to the principal’s office and such. But, hey! At least her tactics made her friends laugh. Even when they’re down Miriam always finds a way to find the perfect middle ground between nurturing and uplifting people with her humor.
A tomboy through and through. Never been a girly-girl. She wears minimal makeup, mostly just some black liner and an occasional ‘cute’ look that her friends do for her for events and such. She was always more concerned with the newest skateboard deck than fashion trends. To this day she still skates and totally considers herself a skater.
Her style is pretty chill. Lots of denim and plaid. She rocks a flannel like none other. Paired with ripped jeans and some slip on Vans? Sounds like the best fit to Miriam! Aside from that you’ll find a lot of green in her wardrobe, as it’s her favorite color, and a bunch of graphic t-shirts.
She’s very heavy into music and different genres. Being a 4*TOWN fan growing up only made her love of bands develop. She kinda outgrew the boyband phase but 4*TOWN will always have a special place in her heart. Their songs still make it to her on repeat playlist on spotify! Music had such an influence on Miriam that she picked up the guitar in seventh grade. She can play a little bit of the drums, and enjoys the chaos that comes with it, but prefers her guitar. Music also helps her focus on work a lot.
Speaking of work, Miriam does love her job though she hates she has to work for a living. She still has a childlike charm to her. Maybe it’s from her humor but she would much rather write for fun than for work.
She found her love of writing through journaling and writing songs in middle school. That carried with her to high school and beyond. Journaling turned to short stories and poems and then she began submitting her work online and freelanced for cash in high school. Working for the newspaper is great though because she can write about topics she likes while putting her own bit of flair into her writing. Her boss doesn’t always appreciate that but he did give her a small area of the paper to put a ‘daily joke.’ They’re usually really bad dad jokes or puns.
Her friends are still her ride or dies. She’d do anything for them. Whether that’s throwing the first punch at the bar to some creepy dude or staying up until the sun rises because they need a shoulder to lean on. She’s very reliable and will always be there for them as she knows they would do the same for her.
The whole panda thing with Meilin was insane but Miriam was so chill about it. She loves the panda in Mei and even though her defending and protecting her friend to the end of the world made Mei’s mom kinda hate Miriam it’s fine. Totally fine. It doesn’t bother her, right? That’s a lie. It still bothers Miriam to this day and she doesn’t understand why she wants her friend’s moms approval so much. Maybe it’s because her own mother was barely there for her and she needs a maternal figure to make up for that.
Miriam is bisexual. She figured that out in the eighth grade. She came out to her friends first and then her dad. They were all so supportive and accepting but when she told her mom when visiting one weekend a year or so later when she had the courage to tell her she didn’t get the same reaction. It’s a struggle because she had her first girlfriend at the time and was so happy and her mom just…crushed her feelings. She holds in the feelings she has that maybe she isn’t bisexual but a lesbian because of the reaction she gained from her mother from coming out bi. She’s still unsure and experimenting and fooling around with different people but it’s something she’ll figure out one day.
She’s very open minded and loud about her opinions and what she believes in. She will fight for her rights just as well as yours. Pride month is very important to her because she thrives in the community and feels safe and accepted there.
It really killed her to move out of her dad’s house but she’s so independent that she needed to. She talks to him daily and visits at least twice a week. She’s still very close to him and he’s her #1 fan and biggest supporter outside of her friends. But, she saved up her money from work and got herself a little one bedroom.
Her apartment is very her. It’s very goblincore meets skater girl meets music fanatic. There's a tapestry of mushrooms up and posters galore! She has a few plants but struggles to keep them alive during the winter. She still has 4*TOWN posters and her cutout of Aaron T she’s held onto since she was a kid. She’s not super messy but not the tidiest either. There’s a little clutter and mess around but nothing that’s out of ordinary for someone like her.
She has a cat! He’s a round, orange cat with big eyes and a wild personality. His name is “Dorito” or “Rito” for short.
She’s a mini backpack or messenger bag type of bitch. She can carry the essentials and then some while still looking ‘cool.’
A stoner. It just happened as she met some skater friends. She’s not too obnoxious about it around her friends that don’t smoke, but is always willing to light up if they want to!
She has some tattoos and isn’t afraid to say she has a 4*TOWN one! Her other ones are just random things. Some are silly, some meaningful, and others just are there because she liked the idea of it.
Miriam is just trying her best. She’s living life to the fullest and taking things day by day. She can’t complain too much about life but is still trying to find her place in the world, you know? She’s vibing most of the time, but don’t piss her off please. Not only will she rip you a new asshole but it will kill the vibe. :/
