You hear a lot about love and light, and good vibes in the witchcraft community - a lot of "good vibes only".

And, positivity is good.

But to expect people to always be positive and happy? To tell people that their other, less pleasant emotions have no place in spirituality? Ridiculous and very toxic.

There is nothing wrong with trying to cultivate a happy and positive environment, but shunning your other very human emotions is unhealthy at best.

There is a place for sadness, and anger, and grief in both life and spirituality.

Your emotions are an important part of the human experience, and an important part of who you are. Your emotions, good and bad, are powerful.
