A Skitty ask blog set in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon universe (Explorers of Time/Darkness focused). Set after the post-story; AU. Light plot, mostly interaction-based.

"Hm. Maybe teams work differently where I'm from, but if I noticed a teammate- or a friend- struggling to pick up something or making a bunch of mistakes, I'd. Y'know, talk to them about it and try to help them out? Instead of humiliating them in front of their family and potential boss."

Heron's expression remained carefully neutral, but the slight twitching of their tail betrayed their irritation at the Dragonair's actions. "What you did was just plain cruel."

Odysseus scoffed. “You call it cruel, I call it a wake up call.” Despite the Skitty’s words, Odysseus looked rather calm about the whole affair. “Sara has been nothing but a danger to herself and potentially others since her third failed attempt and we’re on- What? Maybe attempt number eighty? Eighty-two? Hell, who knows how many times she’s gone alone. Point being is I’ve been by her side, I’ve tried to nudge her in the right direction and yet she’s too stubborn to listen. I was only being honest and doing what was best for her. She wouldn’t survive a real dungeon on raw power alone. Who knows who else she’d throw into danger.”

"It was cruel. You painted her in the worst light imaginable. You made it sound like she'd never learn to work in a group or be less reckless." They let out an annoyed huff, "And you're still doing it now! Calling her a danger to everyone including herself, as if she literally has no impulse control!"

"Do you really, really not get how hurtful that is to her? Isn't she already alienated enough with being denied her evolution? Being worried about her pushing herself too far is one thing, but this is something else. You know people will talk once word gets out."

"The least you can do is show some sympathy for her."

Heron@216: Heron peers at the kid from the edge of the bed, doing their best to not startle them. They keep their voice low to avoid unnecessary attention, just in case, "H-hey, it's alright, I... think you're safe here. Take it easy- do you know where you are?" Didn't hurt to ask- from the sounds of it, the other human didn't seem familiar with them.

He loosened his grip on his blanket a bit as he looked at the one in front of him. He seemed to be searching for something. He eventually spoke back up, some sort of newfound curiousity lighting his eyes. "Have you ever traveled to another world before?" He paused a moment.

"Also- If it's okay to ask, I mean- what are you? You kind of remind me of a cat, though um...maybe that's rude. Sorry."

They take note of the camera in the corner of the room that was pointed out to them... so much for apparently being "safe," huh.

"I'm a cat Pokemon, if the difference matters? You know, a Skitty."

They give a reassuring smile in response to 216's worry… though, how well he could see them if anyone's guess.

"It's not rude at all! Don't worry about it."

It is strange he doesn't seem to know what a Pokemon is, though...

quick for-fun doodle/kind of warm-up since the drawing itch doesn't hit me til nighttime, apparently

heron is a darkness!skitty (hasty natured)! though their design was pretty straightforward at the start of the blog, later on i decided to give them design cues that were a little... bobcat/lynx inspired? just as a little nod to the shinx line in Sky

figured i could do the opposite for a quick, fun little design (shinx, but with housecat design cues) 🤔 ))

This account is on a bit of an indefinite hiatus activity-wise! I’m mostly focusing on getting my primary ask blog ( @ask-no151 ) back to a more active state before I start things back up over here (I’m not trying to burn myself out by doing too much all at once... again)!

That being said, I still send asks from this account, so if anyone has been confused as to why a functionally inactive ask blog has been popping up in others’ inboxes, well, that’s why! Thank you o/ ))

So I've reblogged your art before and really loved the way you draw Skitty. I just havta ask: any tips for drawing their eyes? Bc it gives me the hardest time bc I love using expressive eyes and it's a serious challenge lol.

idk what tips i could give on drawing their eyes?? since i’m essentially just drawing them with their eyes closed/squinted all the time. I do use an open eye shape on the sketch layer to help with placement sometimes, but otherwise yeah it’s just closed eyes??

I can’t exactly give advice on making the eyes more expressive since, you know, they’re p much closed. You’ll have to use other parts of the face to really make expressions more varied tbh
