Slash Panache is a collaborative project between Animation Artist Milo Gluth & Textile Artist Louise Meuwissen. The virtually hosted Embroidertation, is a celebration of the overlaps between the notoriously laborious crafts of Animation and Embroidery, which share an inherent dependence upon incredible, minute details in their creation. Animation and Embroidery are processes which distinctly capture and accumulate time as they grow. In Slash Panache considerations of time and detail are accentuated by an eternal feedback loop which compels us to acknowledge both the whole and its sum of parts simultaneously. This pretty-ugly piece explores potentials new technologies present in our engagement with the handmade as both creators and audience. Slash Panache is part of Craft Victoria’s Craft Cubed 2016 ‘It’s in the Detail’.
