John was entirely and utterly shit when it came to self-care, that wasn’t a secret, really. Thankfully enough, Noah wasn’t one to give up on people too easily, especially those he cared about deeply. John was one of them, there was no doubt - even John himself had to be aware of that.
So, naturally, Noah refused to take any of his crap. It would do no good to kindly offer him to maybe let him make lunch for them - Noah was sure it would be much more effective to just present a fait accompli.
❛ I have never heard any collection of words that made me want to cooperate LESS than the ones you just chose. ❜ and cooperation when he REALLY doesn’t want to is his forte, shitty situations made better simply with a smile and an adherence to the little things ( like not arguing when the battle ISN’T worth the fight---or BITING when his bark isn’t enough to show he isn’t in the mood ).
he doesn’t spit a FUCK YOU back, though, so it’s not likely it’s rubbed him too wrong. ( not saying much; john martin is GOOD at smiling when he doesn’t want to---he’s built a career on it---but it’s SOMETHING, at least. )
