I do think HarleyWhite can have cannon connotations. Yes… in a closeted way and also in an overt way. Harley was distraught and obsessive after being turned into an experiment, I think Bruno got caught in the power struggle and cult-like pressures. I like to see HarleyWhite in it’s era being an unspoken, age-old bond, both being two sides of the same coin.
They think of each other even in complex hatred, Sawyer still despises White. But he thinks of Bruno so much still, more than anyone, like their betrayal was personal, and deep - even if Harley is partially to blame for pushing so much, or for not expecting an evil man to be evil because he would never do such a thing to Bruno.
Sawyer I feel its more difficult to explain his feelings, for HarleyWhite I think White might just be attracted I fear 😨😨 Sawyer kinda matches his freak, and they don’t have much to hide from each other. I guess this counts as an AU but I like the idea they knew each other in the YGP otherwise it’s wasted potential.
I also like the idea they are both bitter with each other afterward or just very petty. (Ft. Meta analysis… it’s giving over the top, it’s giving personal issues)
Anyway cuz its pride I was gonna try and give them some identity HCs. I don’t think they would personally call themselves this but it’s like whatever.
Bruno White - I think he would just he a nerdy gay who probably never stop to think about it until seeing a childhood friend who he never stopped thinking about for some reason…
Harley Sawyer - Demi-romantic, demi-bisexual. Except… he never forms close enough bonds with anyone, therefore probably sees that he is above it. Or something like that. And then when the only person he had formed a bond with in the past where he was more vulnerable becomes apart of his life again… well. It’s unspoken but strong.
sawyer being demi-romantic makes so much sense to me
because, honestly, i can hardly see him be instrested in having a relationship or a family (knowing that he values his own work above anything else), but i still think he's capable of liking someone, romantically, AFTER forming a bond with them and trusting them enough to give them the title of being his "right hand man"
especially because we see from the chapter 4 arg how much he still talks about Bruno, when asked, even after 7 years from the HoJ.

I just know the harleywhite audience of three people were begging for a random guy to write pages upon pages on two characters with a dynamic that probably exists in a better form in some other media 😭😭
